I love all the ideas you guys have! Sorry I've been slow to get back on this, but RL is just really challenging right now.

I have an idea to throw in the pot, too.

Let's have a Canid Show! Like a dog show but with all our canids! We can make up classes for fun and for beauty and for work. For example, for fun classes, we could have Most Intellectual-looking Canid, Canid that Looks Most Like a Circus, Canid that Looks Most Like Mardi Gras (and all sorts of other holidays, like what Jodjo said) and also like Jodjo said, a mystery class where a panel of judges has to try and guess what the canid represents, Most Colorful, Most Monochrome, etc. For Conformation (beauty) classes, we could divide them by species and then have each person who wants to submit up to two in each class, and then everyone could vote (but people won't be allowed to vote for their own canids). Then for Working classes, each of us could write a short bio on our canids that tells what kind of job they do--sort of bringing in a little role playing like Fenn suggested. Then like the Conformation classes, we could all vote for the best ones in each category (we would just have to pick out some categories for it). I suggest we do each major branch of the show separately so we don't get too confused--in other words, first the Fun Classes, then the Conformation Class, then the Working Classes. For prizes, for each person who enters a canid, they supply a prize for the class they are entering (it can be something small, but no pets please) and the prize coordinator can portion out the prizes for each class to the winners accordingly.

So that is my idea. It's really involved, but I think it could be fun. I could coordinate it, but I would need someone to manage the prizes and someone to pick judges for the Mystery Class (in the fun classes) and other such things.

What I tried to do was combine some of the other ideas and come up with something different from other clubs, and since dog shows are so common, it would be a great way for us to show off our canids and have fun with them.

So what do you think of this idea and the others that were suggested? I'd love your feedback!

That sounds fun! My only question is who gets to define what's "fashionable", but you could say the same thing about a lot of my suggestions.

I get the fun class and working class but how would the conformation class work out as? Since its fixed lineart so all the species have the exact same body shape.

What about a Working class in which the pets compete to see--

Who can successfully complete the most Missions in a certain amount of time?

Which three-canid team can win the most battles in a certain amount of time?

There also ought to be something we can do with the Arena Leaderboards.

Lian, you're absolutely right that they all have the same lineart, which is why there is no way for a single judge to judge a class impartially. That means they will have to be judged on genes, mutations, and colors since those are the variables. Since we all have different tastes in those factors, the only fair way to do this is to do it by vote, so that the majority of participants awards the prize. Does that make sense?

that sounds cool, but does everyone that submits one entry have to give something as a prize, because some people don't have anything good to give

Spelf, that's a great idea! I don't battle, so it didn't even occur to me. I think we could definitely do that. It makes perfect sense.

as long as there is a theme for the conformation class, I think it would work. otherwise in real dog shows most of the entrants are near identical except for a few small details
