Gender stereo typing(including in games) is a harmfull practise. You can read all about it online. I can provide links if need be. It's wrong to call it a style choice because it's not. A style choice is do you make fur spiky or curly. A style choise is do we make eyes human or animal like. A style choice is do the creatures look more realistic or more cartoony. Gender stereo typing is not an art style choice, as you can use the exact same art style to make more gender neutral designs. They don't have to be realistic animal like design wise to avoid gender stereo typing.

Stereo typing of gender in games is harmfull and Sylestia is doing it with it's species. Not with any bad intentions I'm sure.
But thats why I am pointing out that it can be very harmfull to people which is why more diversity in the portrayel of genders would be great. Which I find importand to point out. You can't change what your not aware off. Which is why I am trying to make people more aware of this.

So I will stil request they reconsider and make a few species more gender neutral. Not all of them, just a few.

I don't mean anything bad with this. But gender stereo typing is harmfull. Thats a fact. And it's ok if people point that out once in a while and request for that to be toned down every once in a while as well.

So my request stays, and I hope Krin and Fai seriously consider it, if not for the puffs then perhaps for a new species in the future or another species that gets revamped.

Thats all I'll say about it here. if people which to discuss this further with me feel free to Pm me. :) Reason I posted this here and not in a discussion post:

So that my request/suggestion does not get ignored because it got waved it off because of something said in the past. I want my request/sugstion to stay relevant so thats why I felt the need to post this here so it stays as an active suggestion in this suggestion box. Used or not.

Further discussing this topic is fine by me. Feel free to pm me in such a case.

Oh my goodness.

These are amazing!!! I am completely, totally in love. I was really super worried about these, since they are my fave species and over half of the pets I own. But once again, gorgeous lines and the minor changes you gave hem are fitting and adorable. I love how sleek and lithe they are now (which was one of the things I was kinda meh about on the originals. The pudge on their belly's was cute and all, but I guess I have a personal taste for the slim and elegant look lol.)

Still a little worried about their traits because I'm gonna be xD but definitely significantly comforted on their lines! Can't wait! My 3+ stables of puffs will be looking AMAZING!

I am really in love with the new designs! The integrity of the current date design is still in tact, just updated. What I love the most is that they each look like they have their own personalities that go way beyond just being an image. The male is obviously male and the female is obviously female which I absolutely love! The updated poses are perfect and I can't wait to see the final product.

Well, usually when you have a girl/boy pet you want it to look that way. I actually admire that Sylestia follows nature's rules. Only boys can breed to girls, and one of the problems we have had in the past is the two looking too much alike and people not being able to tell them apart. I think their different features are very characteristic and unique :) But with what you are saying, if I draw a picture of a girl wearing a pink shirt, is that bad?

Keeping in mind they are just animals, after all... And in the wild it is not uncommon for the male and female to have their own characteristics right? I mean, take lions for example. If you drew a picture of lions and gave the boy lions manes, would that be gender stereotyping?

I just personally like things the way they are and figure they are the professionals and no better than I do, but I thought I might share my thoughts in response to your question~ If you want a pet site with twenty different gender options, I would suggest Ayways. :P I don't even /know/ what some of those genders mean haha
