Thank you all very much for everyone's immense feedback on this issue in such a short period of time.
We have removed the code for the breeding changes - it's completely removed. No pets were even affected by it at this point anyway. So other than the information we've received about the topic - no differences are to be had.
I apologize for any frustration/anxiety/stress this announcement may have caused and I am very glad for such a vocal community so that the correct decision could easily be determined here.
Unfortunately, while the problem is still a problem (not that this would have magically fixed it anyway by itself), we will have to go back to the drawing board and come up with alternative approaches. I also wouldn't be surprised if we post a stickied thread in the Suggestion Box at some point just to collect a massive array of ideas and opinions on everything.
Again, I apologize for any caused stress over this. It was definitely not my intention with the change, I promise!
The Wild Stat implementation is still here - I don't think that caused too much undue stress and concern. =P

ah I didn't mind the breeding changes. I'm sorry if this caused any type of any anxiety due to the arguments.

That's a shame, I really do believe the best way to solve this problem will be to nerf breeding. No one will be happy with a nerf but sometimes it needs to be done. I don't know whether this would have been the nerf that worked but I felt it deserved a try.

I do think some variety with breeding times would benefit a lot. especially since males can endlessly breed with females it's easy to cause over flooding of the market. Keep working on it, i'm sure you'll make it work. :)

No worries Krin I know It stresses you out as well when we all disagree on something, But personally as a play I want to see the Site become the best it can be with decisions that would help the site and the players. That being said I want to thank you and Faiona for caring enough about the community to ask our opinions and take them seriously. I know we can be pains in the rear sometimes but I truly am glad you take the time to be personal with us.

I know you do look at player's feedback, so judging from the popularity I thought it might come off sooner or later!

It simply would not have fixed the problem. the main problem is mass breeding and theres nothing to stop people from buying the super cheap pets and breeding those together. its just instead of needing one 1g male they'd need multiple. you'd still get mass breedings. it would not have fixed the problem
It would only have caused extra problems for those with projects. thats all.
edit: i come off sounding real grumpy here thats not the tone i want but i'm unsure how to fix it.
but this solution would have been a bit like complaining a cart is going too fast or far and taking a wheel off so it'll slow down. You could totally keep it going just fine if you balance it right but its a lot of work and those who don't care about safety will just ram the cart down the road anyways.

If you love them then they aren't garbage. When people said 'trash', I thought they meant one of the 310 unwanted 1g pets up for sale at this very moment.
