The line was more than 100 people long, stretching far. It was very noisy too. He was no longer talking about it, smiling at you as if he'd just asked a question.

You headed into the kitchen and your father had put all the spare food onto a plate, he was currently washing up the cooking equipment while humming to himself. Coco happily curled up in your arms. She wasn't moving anytime soon.
She leaned against the door frame watching her dad and petting Coco, she had been working up the nerve to ask him if she could leave soon. She had been meaning to do it for weeks but had never actually done it yet.

You went outside and everything was pretty quiet, the occasional person walked past on your street of houses. you couldn't see the marketplace from where you lived, but could hear the usual chattering coming from it. There were no parades going on at the current time.
Your brother grabbed two bows, putting them over his shoulder before standing beside you, Marie still on his hip and being held by him. He grinned, "So you heading off to see the big, wide world or.. you gonna come on a hunting trip with us?"

You ate the food; it tasted horrible and dry, definitely rather old. Your father most certainly wasn't a talented cook, and, well your mother wasn't around anymore. It was probably store bought food from a week or so back, kept in the cabinets. The stone floor made your feet feel cold. As you looked around, you noticed a note and a few gold coins on the kitchen counter.
