I'm sorry, but this is my genuine opinion of the direction this roleplay is currently headed.
Defiance Peregryn | Quartermaster | Location: Balcony of poop deck | Mentions: All
Defiance cast her eyes to the overcast skies and muttered a sarcastic plea to her sea gods. If these blundering landlubbers were to be the next generation of crew on the Night, she'd sooner tie a cannonball to her leg and leap into the ocean. The Night and her crew existed to save girls and give them another chance at life, surrounded by sisters of salt and blood who had come from similar situations.
It wasn't a party ship for girls who thought piracy was cool.
It was dangerous and deadly - Defiance had never met a pirate, on the Night or otherwise, who was older than 30. If they were caught, they would be hanged, no questions asked. Piracy was a last resort for a desperate woman to turn to, not a place for a girl looking for a bit of adventure.
Defiance was willing to bet that if everyone who was just begging to join the Night's crew spent a month at sea, fighting for every meal and to see the next sunrise, they'd be just as desperate to return home.
Wait, scratch that, she thought. None of these girls'll survive a month at sea. The conditions will kill them, the Navy will hang them, they'll drown themselves, and if not, I'm likely to slit their throats and send them to the seafloor.
She opened her mouth and bellowed over everyone talking in a thungering voice trained over the past three years to be heard over cannon blasts and sea storms.
"Will ye all quit yer yappin for half a minute, so I can hear my own bloody thoughts, and yeh can hear 'em too?"
She drew in a breath.
Remain calm, Dia. Calm...
Right now she felt about as calm as a raging gale.
"The Night's Revenge ain't a place for all ye sweethearts. Ye are all soft landlubbers, jumping at a bit of adventure. I'm glad ye have all heard of us. But if ye all join us now, ye'll either be dead and buried or just beggin' to return home after a month. Piracy is hard. It's a cruel, unforgivn' lifen and once ye have started down our path, there ain't no runnin' home for yee."
Only once she was done did Defiance realize she hadn't taken a single breath, and drew in a long one now.
"I'm sayn', most of ye think this is some fun opportunity. It ain't. So unless ye have a past yer runnin' from or no reason to live no more, get out of here, and don't go breathin' a word that the Night's Revenge made port hear. Because we're wanted criminals, and we'd prefer not to dance with the hangman.
"If ye think ye can earn a pretty penny by telling someone who wants us dead and gone we're here, remember this: Dead Men - Or Women - Tell No Tales."

Tracey | Ship | Defiance
"What landlubber? For your information, I literally live in the ocean. I know every nook and cranny along this coast and I also know quite a bit of sailor gossip." Tracey was indignant at being called a landlubber. She was born to live in the ocean, not on land.

No worries. I just wanted to get it out there before the RP became too... you get what I mean, right? Hope your feel better, Espen.
Defiance didn't even bother attempting to hide her eye roll.
"Do ye sleep in the water? Live in some onderwater cave, mayhaps?" Defiance snorted.
"Unless ye is a fish, ye live on land. I ain't taken any fishies on board the Night. Yer a landlubber, girl, and an awfully dim-witted one at that. Gossip ain't got nothin' to do with it."
She felt a tringe of of worry in her gut, but quickly dispelled it. She was trying to help Maxine by dealing with the fools who seemed to think they could waltzin and act like they owned the Night. Step up and take control like a captain, ask the actual captain's forgivness later. She knew Maxine and had no doubt she would see things the same way.
"All of yeh," she snapped, suddenly feeling incredibly weary. "Get off the Night. Go home, or back to yer underwater palace, wherever little girls who think they're fishies live, and all those who ain't confused about what animal they are. If you're prepared to die a gruesome at my hands or those of the Navy, come noon tomorrow. If not, or if ye think ye is a fishie, I don't want to see you again."
She tapped the hilt of her cutlass for emphasis, glaring daggers at everyone but the original crew, or what was left of it.
Her true crew.
Amelie heard the young woman's speech. Her face darkened. She knew nothing of her past. She huffed, gritted her teeth and proceeded to let go of the rope. She fell a good 10 feet before landing into a controlled roll.
"We aren't just a bunch of pink frillied dolls." She said wiping sweat off her forehead and standing up. "Or at least i'm not." She picked up her fallen items. "I came hear seeking a belonging. I have my father and almost half the french army after me. A dead and broken family, no dowry, a life of darkness and endless pain." She said pointing her rapier at the woman. "I was forced to try to assassinate my father at the age of 15, but without luck. I am now a grown woman and have a kill rate of over 100 individuals." She said as she strode over to her with long strides. She gently prodded the woman with her rapier. "And you dare call me a sweetheart, madame?" She concluded, her accent accentuating every vowel.

Tracey | Ship | Defiance
She rolled her eyes and glared back. She had a temper and a quick toungue. "First off, I get good deals for playing mermaid. Free food, plenty of gifts, and the satisfaction of making those navymen flee in terror when i start singing. Second, your mapmaker is dead. I know this because I've been following you for a good while and you lot don't keep as quiet as you think. Wheress I know my way along this coast better then almost anyone. Have hideyholes pretty much everywhere. And third, you're the quartermaster. Not the captain Your name suits you perfectly. And I do not sleep out in the open, i'm not that stupid. I have much nicer living areas then you'd think."
Maxine smiled to Defiance gratefully. She was incredibly tired and incredibly weak with all the wounds she had sustained the battle only a day ago. She let Defiance do the talking as she of all people know that she was much better at being rougher with newcomers while he herself was betting being tough on them after knowing them for awhile. She didn't fancy the way a woman spoke to Defiance as she knew that no one should mess with the new quartermaster less they wanted to be carved. She stepped back with an almost stumble- a very noticeable one at that- though Maxine rather hide that pain she was feeling although it was quite noticeable she was unstable and putting on a brave face. " You heard er' if ye ain't prepared to be dead by dusk of tomorra' ye better be scamperin' home lassies. The sea is a cruel mistress indeed. "
Maxine gave a harsh glare to the ladies. " Now you see here! Defiance may not be the captain but I am! Ye listen to her as if she were. She is as much captain as I. "
( So I have some art of Max- and was wondering if anyone else wanted art of their pirate xd I can show art here lol )
( I perfectly understand what you mean Mistress. You want this drama packed and thrilling- not friendly, cute, and not dangerous. )

Tracey | Maxine, Defiance | Night's Revenge
"Been there done that probably damaged my lugs by staying udnerwater for 3 minutes while some navymen went swimming after me got hooked by countless fishhooks almost got killed by a badly aimed cannonbal..... I think i'll be fine. 'Sides, got no family and no other obligations other then the Navy's gonna try to kill me either way. Might as well do something productive while i'm around." Tracey huffed.
(Wait till ya'll meet Troy....)
