Daniel Barton walked into the Hub, scratching his head. Never had he seen so many people in the same place. He sat down in a chair in the corner, for the moment content to just sit and watch the people. Or whatever those things were. As he sat, the events of the past few days filtered through his mind, causing his face to change emotions several times, though he did not smile or frown per se.

Astraeus silently appeared behind the newcomer, wings stretching out around her in a majestic motion. "Another person, I see. Welcome to the Hub. I am Astraeus, and it is my job to welcome newcomers." She paused, setting a hand on his shoulder. "Should you have any questions, I am here to answer them. You may also talk to the others."

Daniel smiled at her. "As...tray...us?" he tried pronouncing her name. "So, what sort of a place is this? I mean, I don't think there's any place like this on Earth. Is this an alternate dimension?"

She moved from behind him to in front of him, crossing her arms and folding her wings back. "Think of it as a crossroad between worlds, between universes. A crossroad that will always exist no matter what happens, and it changes to accommodate its visitors' needs. Say you want a pool. The Hub does not have one now, but when you want one, there will be one."

Daniel narrowed his eyes. "Are you an angel?" He motioned to her wings. "I mean, with the wings and all..." he trailed off, realizing that that might have been offensive. He looked down. "Sorry if I insulted you. I was raised on an island in the middle of nowhere," he said with a small laugh. "With about five brothers." He felt his face go red. Well, this was awkward.
