luke looks at alex and alex looks at him but then looks down and continues talking to luca "they said that because i have autism and also because i am mexican that they wouldn't hire me what does this mean if anything my autism would make me way smarter than any of them because i can see things others can't see when i'm working on a horse i can touch them and automatically map the body in my mind and also see what's wrong with it i can also go over things like math or maps in my mind and i have a photographic memory"

"speaking of horses blackouts sides acting up again," she said mixing the hair dye.

alex says "arthritis only gets worse with the horses age eventually he'll won't be able to walk without lots of pain let alone keep up with the herd and when that happens the best thing is to put him down"

she nods sadly

"but then until that time comes you can give him anti inflammatory shots and pain meds in his food but eventually he won't want to walk then it'll sadly be time for him to be put down but that be still be 2 or 3 years seeing if he lives that long surprised he lived this long being a wild horse"

"you'd be surprised what ive seen wild horses do," she said chuckling.

alex paces then someone knocks on the door

she tells luke to hide and she goes to open the door.

its her father and he's cries into the house and hugs luca "you mother died in a car crash and it was because someone was drunk and ran into her car"

she hugged him "its ok dad," she said not knowing how to respond yet.
