By this logic, why be mad at me? I didn't take a picture of your diary? I did not even touch your diary! You see how this type of thinking fails to work.

but ok, lets say maybe I didn't ask for A to take pictures of your diary. It was A's idea, and they shared it with me. Then, i proceed with the instagram post, and the bullying, and the mocking. Would you be mad at me? By your logic, no! By the logic you are working with, we would still be best friends, and i would have 0 blame in the entire situation.

Do you see how this logic is flawed?

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this and beeing honest with us players. I personally haven`t noticed anything, but if I would have I would want to know what happend and don`t feel like the dump player that`s not worth being informed

Well, I guess what I'm asking here is... is this a diary or is it a channel accessible to anyone on a discord accessible to anyone and in that case... what reasonable expectation of privacy is there? If I'm at a company get together outside the office, and talk smack about my boss, even if my boss isn't there to hear it, can I not expect my coworkers who overhear going to them to tell them?

Maybe because I didn't know what it even was before now so I'd rather others not be in the dark about it either. I'm old. Sue me. But seriously. You have to get an invite to said server it isn't even associated with the site and it was a safe place to ra t and rave. Not that people were actually going to do it. How many people have told a kid I brought you into this world I can take you out? People were told explicitly in that server that if any info was found or any mention of finding g offsite information about fai or krin was shut down immediately and told they would be banned if they proceeded. That I don't think warranted a ban.

This logic is flawed. Social media is different from your private diary. And if you have to have a particular book saying hurtful things about real people, you may need help and therapy.

I suppose a diary was not the right comparison. The right comparison would have been if you had a conversation with your friend explaining your frustrations. You explain how you feel, you mention you feel frustrated, and use an analogy that sounds damning without context.

Unbeknownst to you, your friend has recorded said conversation, stripped the analogy of all context, and proceeded with the same instagram situation from the first post. How does this make you feel? Again by your logic, as I asked someone else to record the conversation (your friend you were talking to), you cannot be mad at me.

So a private chat in a private server is now considered social media?

I'm sorry, but nothing online is private. Well, we all know this by now and why so many people have stopped using Facebook entirely. It is 2023. If you are trying to defend something you don't understand, be honest rather than working hard to come off as uncaring as possible.

Hmm. I think that's honestly a bit disingenuous. This is more akin to a slam book being passed around, where people vent their spleen thinking themselves anonymous. Except someone knows who's who and reveals it. And there's fallout and consequences from it.

I've seen these sorts of things get out of control before, tearing apart communities.
