Colors are... irritating, to say the least. From what I've seen and what I understand, the RGB values that make up the colors will be selected anywhere between the parents' values. IE, Mother: R 200, G 100, B 0; Father: R 100, G 0, B 200. R will be between 100-200; G between 0 and 100; B between 0 and 200.

It eventually leads to many a murky dishwater mess when you have such a wide range.

For generated identical pairs (or near-identical since regular essences have a bit of colorswing), the colors on the offspring won't stray.

As for the odds...

Carry + Carry = 25% chance
Male or female is a 50% chance.

To get both as visible and get a female.... Hm. My gut is telling me that it might be 1 in 32? But it's 1 am and my brain is like "Zzzzz... Huh? What? You want me to math? Hahahahaha-Zzzzz...."

Colors will be fine, though!

And if you'd rather stack the odds in your favor, I recommend making another male birb. A second male means you can breed it to any female offspring from the first two. Provided the females have at least a carry in both slots, it'll exponentially raise the number of eggs you get to breed. Rather than just the one from the generated female, you'll get to use all the female offspring for breeding as well. With enough of a generation gap this also means that you can eventually breed yourself a 2V breeding pair.

What would be the ideal way to start a 6vis project with two mystical essences and one regular?

Hm, good question. Sorry for the delayed response!

I would say...

Male 1
G1
G2
G3
M1

Male 2
G3
M1
M2
M3

Female
any 2-carry combination of G1, G2, M2, or M3. G3 and M1 are covered twice over on the males, so filling in the more scarce traits will be most beneficial. As for how to decide which of the 4 to use, go with the traits you're most eager to see!

(Doesn't necessarily have to be G123M1 and G3M123; it's just the easiest way to show the concept.)

I'm wanting to craft festival themes for a 6-vis project. If I can only craft one 3-vis, would it be better to make it male or female?

If you only have the means of getting one 3V, definitely make it a male!

A female would only give you an offspring once before it goes on cooldown which limits its usefulness, while a male would be able to have as many offspring as you have females to breed him to.

Additionally, if you already know the traits for your other breeders, try to coordinate his trait slots for where you're most lacking.

For example, if you have the following:

G1: 4 pets
G2: 1 pet
G3: 3 pets
M1: 2 pets
M2: 4 pets
M3: 2 pets

Give him G2, M1, and M3. This will 1) balance out your genepool so you aren't heavily lacking future breeders with G2, M1, and M3; and 2) give you a greater chance of finding mates for him that have a trait slot he lacks, which gives you more filled trait slots in the offspring.

*Note that this is just an example of the concept since I have no idea what your project pets actually are. You'll have to take a tally on what you have to figure out the 3 slots that are lacking in your project.

So, just checking, if I cannot genetically test my Sylesti, then the image codes are a waste if my time, aren't they?

I want to start a breeding project and was wondering is it better to start by generating pets with visible traits or carried? I have both types of the essences of the pet I have. I know you kinda answered this sorry, i'm just confused.

Sorry, didn't notice this forum response in time without a ping ^^;

You've probably already gotten an answer to this, but yes, image codes aren't fully exposed until a pet has been genetically tested.
