You can still choose Henna - there are now just two parts to it. Gene One Henna is on the Body. Gene Two Henna is on the Legs, Head, and Tail Tip I believe.

And no, no ETA. Fai and I had some things to do today so I'm just now getting settled and able to work on it today. I can't really accurately predict how long it will take me to convert my current Generator code to a new "Re-Generator" code. Sorry. =P I know it's not helpful, but it is really hard to predict how long it takes to code something new.

I know, but it wouldn't look right for the henna to just be on her body or vice versa. The only solution I'm seeing is to have her carry it and to pick a different display trait. That way we both win so to speak.

And no apologies needed Krin. I'm a coder myself though Im sorely out of date (XHTML) and don't maintain an actual running website. However, I DO know how time consuming and tedious it can be to recode, input new code and things like that. Web language has to be exactly right or you screw everything to hell and back. And its a bleep to try to find where you messed up so you can fix it and get things running smoothly again . :)

Don't forget to take breaks, eat, and sleep. Its easy to get caught up in it and forget to do the much needed things, such as sleep. :P

And no worries on not having an ETA. I was just curious in case you'd had the chance to make some headway on the project. I take it the Vorpa revamp art is going to be added at the same time as the re generator?

One other question I thought of, what happens when a pet, that hasn't had the genes chosen, is sold? Does the new owner get to choose or is it lost? Or do they have to be chosen before they can be sold?

It can be sold and retain its ability to be Re-Generated.

I... Think that might be a bad idea? Especially if there isn't going to be a time limit on how long you can take to pick the new genes. I feel like that might lead to users purposely keeping Vorpas with the unassigned gp points for a couple weeks/months and then selling them for uber amounts of gold/diamonds to people who want them so they can give them the traits they want. I dunno, maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing, but just putting it out there for consideration.

Downtime Begins: 1:30 AM
Downtime Length: 30-90 Minutes


As stated above, the downtime for the Sylvorpa revamp will be in about an hour from now: 1:30 AM. The estimated downtime will be between 1 to 3 hours. Hopefully it will be on the lesser side given how we will be going about the implementation.

Some final notes about the Re-Generation:

1. The feature is pretty bandaid-put together lol. I basically took my code for the new Generator and rerouted some things so it worked as a "Re-Generator". Although, compared to our current Generator, it will probably look and feel amazing lol.

2. I unfortunately was not able to add the ability to choose a hidden carry. I apologize for the pets that will lose their hidden carries. Sadly, sometimes things must be sacrificed to move forward and this is just one of those things. It would take me a few extra days to code in some sort of method to allow that and we don't want to push the Sylvorpa back any further at this time. In my opinion though, the revamp itself, the new traits, and the improvements to old traits will more than make up for the fact that hidden carries were lost.

3. "How will I Re-Generate my Sylvorpas?" Simply visit their profile after the revamp and there will be a "Re-Generate" button available. Click that and you will be redirected to the Re-Generator where you can then select its new look. Once you've finalized the look, click the green button and viola; enjoy your Sylvorpa's new look!

4. Sylvorpas awaiting a Re-Generation will be unable to affected by any type of Philter. This is to avoid possible conflictions and is the easiest solution.

5. Sylvorpas awaiting a Re-Generation will have some sort of marker on their profile indicating such. This marker will be available to all players. This will allow the information of a pending Re-Generation public knowledge for those looking to sell un-Re-Generated pets. I hope that wasn't confusing lol.

Im just curious, Users can sell their un-regenerated pets and the new owner will then be able to regenerate it?
