In my opinion, they look awesome, but the feathers look a little... off, and the neck on the male looks like it's drooping because his head's too heavy. I personally like the old versions better.

I like the revamp, but not really diggin' the female...her body seems too thin, almost as though it's a part of her neck and not much bigger...she really looks scrawny to me, especially in comparison to the male...any way to fatten her body up a little in contrast to her neck? Otherwise, they're really nice... :)

well i definatly like the old hatchlings better. the longer necks look more swan-like which is really cool. it will help deferenciate male and female better :)

Sorry I'm a bit late, but I wasn't going to post anything at first. Then all of these comments got to my head and started tweaking my view on the artwork...
I actually really liked the previous art for the Aurleons. The way they were drawn made the birds seem much more proud and powerful than these Aurleons do--I feel like they've lost a lot of things that made them what they are.
A lot of people probably don't like the previous ones because they aren't cute or pet-like as many of the other favourites are, but I think we should all try to remember that these are wild creatures and not little bred dogs (With the exception of Puffadores, it seems). The old Aurleons kept their wild look but could still be beautiful with the right colouring. If there was a bird bred to live in people's purses, I think that this would be it.
I do really like the art for this; don't get me wrong. You did a really good job. But, of course, there are always improvements that could be made...
The wings on the female do seem a bit short to me. Perhaps it's because the necks have become so long and take up more body space--I think if you shortened the neck a little bit it would help considerably, as it seems the head would weigh a bit too much for balanced flight.
On the chicks, I think you could do with a bit more fluff behind the neck. Right now the body seems slightly small. (But I really love the feet, though!)
If you disagree with me, that's alright. ^^ I'm no expert on art and if I'm misunderstanding the nature of Aurleons feel free to ignore me. You did a beautiful job, better than I could even come close to!

Oh I think they're lovely, I'm super excited to see the lineart all fleshed out and colored and shaded! ^^ I don't have a whole lot of input, since this isn't a pet I'm overly involved in, however I do have to agree the female's neck looks off. I believe this is because she's set farther back than the male, perspective wise, yet her neck seems longer than his, which is why (personally) viewing them separately doesn't bother me, only when they're next to each other in such a fashion. It seems like if she's set farther back, her neck should be shorter than his.
Also, I thought I might put out a word to everyone fussing because things don't seem completely anatomically correct for how the animal would function in the real world, since I know it was a problem with Vulnyx, Qitari, and the Nixi also: they're not real, remember, guys! They don't actually have to function in the real world, and they're not based of any one thing so there's no way they're 'supposed' to look. They don't need to be anatomically correct or accurate.
(Though I will chime in with the masses here and say I do love Redhund's redline for the male wings - it does give him a more regal look that matches the female's loveliness a bit more.)
