It won't let me put the picture on the post itself. I hope it is acceptable.

Gene Slot 1:Zebra
Gene Slot 2:Sweetlips/Plectorhincus
Unfortunately, I can't figure out a better name. It's based on a species of sweetlips called Plectorhinchus vittatus.
Gene Slot 3:Coral Reef
I'm not really sure if this would work for runes and it didn't turn out as pretty as it was in my head, but I decided to include it anyway since I can't figure out something to do instead.
Mutation Slot 1:Pearl Jewelry
(I used the version with fins/wings so I could see where the pearl jewelry would fit.)
Mutation Slot 2:Dirona Wings Dirona albolineata is a beautiful nudribranch covered in wide, frosted semi-transparent cerata that made me think of large jelly-like feathers. The edges of the cerata have thin opaque lines. (I've tried to find out what Dirona actually means but can't find any info yet.)
Mutation Slot 3:Glowing Fish/Bioluminescent Fish
Just some little fish friends that school around and glow. I was thinking if it's a problem that they should normally be aquatic that maybe they can have wings, too.

||Not sure if I was supposed to ping you or not, if I wasn't, my apologies...||
Lol so I was a bit confused with how the genes and muts were split up, but I finally figured it out xD
Anyways, I did this on Paint, so I'm sorry if pictures are a bit pixelated. Also, my drawing stinks lol so bare with me >.< And if I did anything wrong, please don't hesitate to tell me.
G1: Angler & G2: Angler
I used 2 different colors, so that you could see how its separated in coloration, and not just one color. C3 should fill where the green is in the picture.
M1: Angler's Ensemble||Couldn't think of a better name||
The Angler Spikes is supposed to be similar to Nightmare Body Spikes, but instead of all over the body, just on the back.
M2: Angler Tail
I completely am horrible at drawing, this tail being proof, but view the reference picture for how it should look.
Angler Fish Reference:
||Will edit this tomorrow, with more details and possibly an M3||

Genes 1 and 2: Striped Seahorse also showing Mutation 2: Seahorse Fins (on the left) and Mutation 3 (replacing the mane since I don't think it would look good with the mane, I do think it would look good with the base fins, and because I don't think anyone wants it just on the head and neck...) : Seahorse Spines (to the right).
The blue color in my images I connected with Eye Color because I thought it looked keen that way, the pink is the Gene Color, and the white is the base body color. The white on the fins and spines would be the base colors for fins and mane, respectively. I used a smooth fade on the Seahorse Fins because that's how the seahorses I saw were, but you can use speckling like on the legs if you prefer. The short spines on the Seahorse Spines are mane color at the base and tipped with Gene color. You could show more of the spines as they follow the spine down the tail; I was trying to show that they follow the spine. Clicking these images should take you to the image in my Photobucket where you can click the magnifying glass to see them full size.
This is the separation of Eye Color and Gene Color so that you can see that there is some overlap. Since some parts of the Eye Color are at 50% opacity, it makes some good color play with the overlap.
The Eye Color separated into solid (on the left) and 50% (on the right) for clarification.
This is how the Striped Seahorse Genes would affect the default fins and mane. I figure that since Gene 2 affects the fins as well, then Gene 1 affects the mane as well? The pattern shown here would go on all of the fins; I've shown just these parts by themselves so that you can see them clearly. Since I used the full base and it is colored cyan, I switched from white to cyan for base colors for these 2 images. The cyan on the mane is the base mane color and the cyan on the fins is the base fin color.
This image is to show the relation of the body part of the Striped Seahorse Genes to the default fins and mane. I overlaid the 2 images so that is why the body parts of the Genes are faded and blued.
If you want to see all of the fins with the Gene or want to see some examples of what some real Sylesti colorings might look like (though I am digging these colors now |D ), feel free to let me know. ^_^
If I can make some more time in time, I will try to post my Gene 3 and Mutation 1. :o
Edit 11:18pm 03/07/2016/T - Trying to get Gene 3 in here now that Photobucket is kind of working...
Gene 3: Seahorse Runes
Mimics the lines on a seahorse caused by its boxy framing. The green is the Gene 3 color. If the hoof color of the new Kelpari is going to be the same as Eye Color, then Seahorse Runes should color the hooves too. :3 I didn't post the Gene by itself on the body because I thought it would be seen well enough from the above images. ^_^
(I'm posting this now in case Photobucket freezes my browser or my computer... Will add more if things cooperate.)
Edit 11:37pm - (Trying to get some more in.)
Seahorse Runes on the default fins. Again, just showing these fins done for clarity; the Gene would follow the same pattern onto all of the fins. With and without the body part of the Seahorse Runes.
