I see.
So if my pets are at level 60 however, their Proficiency points will be reduced from 11 to just 6, right?
The Level-Up points will stay as they are or reduced?

I guess it seems a bit confusing but still..sounds intriguing.

I wouldn't think of anything as being reduced or going away. It's a completely new system with new mechanics and things don't really translate from one to the other.

The new system is a lot easier to manage and quicker to learn. As it is now... you're dealing with what, 250ish things to spend for each Level 60 Pet? The new system will essentially replace that with only 4 things to spend for each Level 60 Pet. One for its Element, 3 for its Proficiency Points.

The system will then automatically award everything else for your Pet based on your selections.

----------------------------------------

Now, with that in mind, in regards to if your pets will be "better" or "worse"... for completing Missions, they'll be the same. I will be adjusting Missions to match the new Stat curve for Pets. You shouldn't notice much of a difference at all.

For Battling, your pets will be much better and much stronger because the Abilities themselves have been vastly buffed.

-----------------------------------------

Lastly, this new system allows Pets to grow vastly stronger from Levels 61-75 than they could have under the current system (which was largely the driving factor in all of this to begin with).

I hope this helps to explain it a bit better?

Yeah, that helps.
I guess I will just have to wait until the new system is implemented to get a better feel for it.

Anyways, thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it.

Can be interesting change. It looks like pets can go higher then level 60 now with this perhaps? That would be good.

No. The main storyline will eventually cover all 10 regions on the world map.

We won't even finish the 3rd region before we relaunch Sylestia and start the storyline over.

The MegaZone is separate from the storyline and won't contain lore that shows up again after we relaunch.

Wow, this is a really intriguing statement!

So the megazone is separate from everything else? Is it temporary? I thought it was just the continuation of the 3rd region...?

So when the site gets relaunched (regions 1,2&3 at least), will the megazone be deleted at that point? Or will it form part of the new storyline? Or will it stay in place after the relaunch, but remain a separate area, unconnected to everything else?

The MegaZone is just going to be a way for us to release a large batch of content to offer players a way to keep progressing themselves and their pets while we begin the lengthy process of rebuilding the entire Site.

When we relaunch, the MegaZone will be gone and will never come back.

Oh, okay. I didn't realise that about the megazone. Does that mean we will have to restart when everything is relaunched? Or will we still be able to keep our levels, pet, equips, stables, etc.?

For example, will we be starting at region 1, lvl 0, or can we start at region 3, level 75 (or wherever we are up to after tackling the megazone)...

Yikes there's just a little too much going on here and I started reading but already quite confused with it. Why is expertise permanent if you switch elements??? What is an element and how is that different from a proficiency? And then there's also abilities?

You will keep all of your Pets, Stables, Avatar Items - things like that.

All Pets will be reset back to Level 0 and the storyline will be reset to the beginning. However, the storyline, quests, battles - all of that - will be brand new. So it won't be like you're just doing the same thing again. It will be an entirely new and improved experience.

Pet's base stats will be converted to the new system with similar stats to what they have prior. So a max stat pet atm will still be a max stat pet under the new system.

Equipment will also be converted somehow. So if you have Mythic equipment prior to the relaunch, you'll have equivalent equipment when we relaunch.

I honestly wouldn't worry too much about any of this though. The biggest points to emphasize are #1) This is a long way away still. #2) Don't worry, we will be sure to take care of everyone. You won't feel like you've 'lost' anything. It will all be a positive experience.

Expertise isn't wiped by switching Elements because I don't want players to be punished by having their Pet try different roles. So if you have a maxed out Fire Pet, but want to try Light for a bit, you can switch to Light and when you go back to Fire - it will still be a maxed out Fire Pet.

This also allows players to have the chance to 'max out' Pets and get all 6 Elements completely maxed out.

An Element is one of the 6 Ability Trees (Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Light, and Shadow).

A Proficiency is what the Pet focuses on. They earn Proficiency Points at certain Levels that you can spend to have them focus on Health, Strength/Intelligence, Dexterity, or Agility.

An Ability is what you use in Battle. Such as, "Slash".
