they seem to be from a pre-regen design, now from what i was able to get as information the creator may not own any other pair from this designe but i would advise you to ask them if it's ok for you to breed the pair.

That's perfectly fine. Don't worry! The parents aren't similar so it's fine.

Ok I contacted the original owner of both the pets and they did not design the theme. I bought the two lunemara's a while back and the transaction is no longer in my overview. How should I proceed?

look the original.owner of any of the old offepring that have the same coloration then both parents, it will lead you to the owner of the designe ^-^

There isn't really an issue, simply because one of the parents hasn't been regennerated yet.

I've got a pair of 6vis luporas waiting for the revamp.
They have 12 tp.
I design them both to be a pair.

However, the owner of the parents designs the parents to be a pair with opposite colours.
Now one of my lups is the offspring of a pair, despite being regenned different colours.

This is not design theft.

For example, view Sweetrose.

I'm using Sweetrose for my "Violet Guardian" pair

Her parents are both orange and could be counted as a pair.

I regenned Sweetrose with my own design, her parents were regenned with their own design.

If Sweetrose belonged to someone else, I would not count it as design theft because I did not design Sweetrose then. The owner did.

Third example:

This is mummy and daddy, nice and happy before the revamp. They belong to Shard.


Shard then sells this offspring to Ivy, a lovely little female hatchling. It is fertile.


The revamp then rolls around and they all lose their traits.



Shard decides to remake the mother and father to look like this:


Mummy and Daddy are now a new, lovely pair.

However, ivy decides to make baby hatchling look like this:

She grows up to be a lovely adult:


Ivy likes the design and gives her a mate.


They're now a happy pair.


Ask yourself this: is that design theft? No colours are similar, so what if the parents also became a pair? It's part of the pet selling rules. unless you set down clear guidelines immediately, the new owner has the right do what they wish.
*The second design was a random colour generator. 3rd try. Really was lucky :P

In the case where someone buy the pair from someone after they were generated the explanation dosn't work. In that case better talk with the creator of the designe to know if they are ok with you selling offspring from it.

I did make my recheach and find a few offspring from that pair who are exactely like the parents and have someone else as their first owner.

I post my designs publicly because I want to share them. If anyone wanted to generate them, tweak them, use them, sell them, I really don't mind. That's why I post them publicly. I have private designs which I keep private, but if someone sees my stable and thinks 'ooh, that's pretty' I don't care if they make one for themselves. I don't care if they make a big project out of 'my' colour codes and make a fortune off it. I don't care if they take submissions from the theme design contests that weren't chosen and use them themselves.

The one thing I'd oppose, obviously, is entering my designs as their own in a contest or whatever. Because pet colours are unimportant in any way, but lying is wrong.
