Lowell
Lowell exhaled, running his fingers through his hair.
"Gallagher, do you mind taking things from the top? I find your mind tends to be sharper than my own with details."

(cheat ability 123: when two of your own ocs are talking, you don't have to write the conversation)

Gallagher sighed, and began telling the Empress Dowager of all of the events that have conspired so far, leading up to their current point.

(Hence why I default to him to explain things.
If I'm writing out anything between mine, usually it's either relevant or comedic :^)
Sometimes writing out pieces is good to establish character, but obviously no point in rehashing events over and over or writing too much irrelevant stuff.
Like for example I'll imply the gist of Giselle's and Lowell's relationship but I'm not going to write out a bunch of romance with myself, that's weird, lol.)

Lowell
Lowell clarified a few things with Es' input before folding his hands on his lap.
"Is there anything else we need to clarify for you, your Highness?"

(well, I have to admit I actually get sort of annoyed when people do it.

There have been some people here and in the past I have rped with that I felt I couldn't get a word in edgewise with their characters because they all felt like they had extremely established histories and relationships that just didn't mesh with the universe they were put in and their characters would sort of break 'canon' to go on and on about it the entire group.

Sometimes I think people do it just to add length to their posts, but more length isn't always a good thing. It's good for characters to have history and sometimes characters with previous history from other rps or universes can be really fun, but they have to be adapted to fit the group, so to speak.

I'm a strong believer in "less is more" when it comes to dialogue. If you can give me the bare bones and point of a conversation without a long diatribe of information that adds nothing to a story or setting, then I just find it flows better. Especially when it comes to talking about backstories.

I don't consider my style of writing by any means to be gospel though, just what I like to do and find more interesting to read.)

Lowell
Lowell gave her a nod and let her process over everything, looking about the group.

(thats kinda why i tend to only rp with specific people, and a small group, at that.)

" ...I'll let you use my tea. But you have to be extremely careful. Too much could cause the drinker to fall into a deep sleep that they will never wake up from, or die. "

(i have no idea what I could classify my writing style as. I just adapt to the rp's style. )

(I just try to not write things completely off the rails because I like to either overplot things or completely go with the silliest options in any situation
I never take writing too seriously because when I do, characters die. A lot.

Still trying to feel out the rpers I like most here. Got a few in mind but way more I'd like to avoid. Shame I don't seem to have much luck with small groups outside of Discord tbh. ;;

They either die immediately or there is like.. that one guy. You know.)

Lowell
"We'll be careful. What exactly would you recommend as a proper dose for this situation?"

(xD Some of my current rps are absolutely....oof. that's how I'm going to describe it)

" One tea leaf. And only one. " She snapped her fingers, and a maid walked into the room holding a small porcelain jar. She set it on the table, then left, just as quickly as she came in.

(I'm in a pretty great one with both a pretty uh.. let's just call it a very loosely randomly planned plot and with what I like to call the 'action man'.
That one character you're not sure is godmodding or powerplaying or not but they always have a solution for literally every situation, has like an armory of weapons on them, and their character just always has to solve every problem in an instant and hamfist everything to go exactly their direction 24/7.
Like I couldn't even kill an npc by their hand without starting an argument with them.
It makes me want to scream because any conflict or combat is just like
Immediately resolved. There's never any danger or tension ever despite constant combat scenes and it starts feeling like a huge chore.
We even used dice briefly for combat when I took over briefly for someone originally running the group.
And I'm almost positive they cheated them since they cheesed the final boss fight we had been building up to for like a month or so in like
6 posts

I'm still furious tbh but I'm too invested in the group to just bounce because there's been players that I still enjoy playing with in it)

Lowell
Lowell looked over the jar, studying the leaf with a bit of a sniff.

Giselle
"That potent? We'll definitely need to be careful with it then. Thank you for your help, your Highness."

Ezael
"We will make sure to resolve this expeditiously. Thank you. May the Goddess' grace guard you and your family."

(lol I KNOW im godmodding some characters xd but then i feel alright with it because they have their....faults. such as being insane. literally.

i have some regular human rps that aren't that op, but i wouldn't leave it out cause one of my characters is big brained enough to be accepted into Harvard and she comes from a rich mafia family)

The jar had an extremely strong and indescribable smell to it.

She nodded. " Of course. It is for Sera, after all. "
