It seemed like the same tree as before, the tree changed stages as you touched it in the field surrounded by trees and a stream running along the edge
This time I pat attention to the surrounding area. does it change as the tree changes? how does it change etc.

Only the tree changed, the oak seemed to age a couple of hundred years each time - sapling, young tree, middle aged tree, ancient tree and back to sapling. The scenery around didn't change at all.

I muffle a small laugh and pretend not to notice Scorpio in the yarn. "Yes, let's get on with the food, shall we?"

The mayors deputy suddenly had a dark look in his eyes, "the mayors always telling me off for being too friendly. It's best you listen to my instructions, the kitchens too small to have you faffing around in there as well" he seemed to want you to actually do what he asked - distract Scorpio instead of try to cook.
