The Empress was already beginning to wake up as Gallagher stood by her bedside. Her eyes opened and she sat up. " Gallagher. what happened?"

" Because you're not acting like yourself and it's...worrying me. " Gallagher reached up and took off his mask, his black hair falling over his face. " Just...talk to me, Sera. Please. "
Seraphina stared up at him, before sighing softly. " I'm sorry. I just...want to be a good Empress. And a good friend, but...it seems like I'm not good enough. "
" Don't bring yourself down so much. You are a great Empress, and an even better friend. I know that you feel you're alone, but you aren't. And....you seem to keep forgetting that even you should have people to rely on every now and then. "

Lowell had just gotten back from a quick hunt, a bloody rabbit pelt with teeth marks through its side draped over his shoulder and a crossbow still clipped to his belt. He was making his way back to his quarters to clean off the pelt when he caught sight of Gallagher, stopping dead in his tracks.
".. What's the occasion?"
