Daniel tripped backward, and regained his balance, arms flailing. "You know, she did the same thing inside, and I freaked out and nearly burnt the place down. But then she comes around and doesn't remember it? That's just weird." He shook his head, at a loss as to what to say, so he shrugged.

Thaddeus

"That is odd," he agreed. "It's almost like someone's controlling her those times." He returned his attention to Daniel. "Are you okay? I saw you trip."

Thaddeus knew Daniel regained balance, but someone could stub their toe or hurt their heel if they hit something.

Daniel waved him off. "I'm fine, just lost my balance a little there. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." These people were really weird. How many times was that thought going to cross his mind? Mind control. He'd heard of it, heard Barn tell stories of someone called Soldat who was under mind control. He'd been brainwashed and then apparently reprogrammed to be an assassin, and was just a ghost story to frighten people with. So Barn had said.

Thaddeus

"Oh, okay, glad you're okay," he said, sitting down. "So, you," He pointed at Chase, "what is your name?"

Chase

"Chase," he answered, still trying to figure out why Thaddeus was wearing a blue jacket.

Thaddeus

"Hello, Chase," Thaddeus said, smiling. "Are you friends with Daniel?"

Chase

"Correct."

"Okay, your profession?"

"Police officer."

"You sound like someone I know at home."

"May I ask: Why are you wearing a blue jacket?"

Thaddeus

He blushed. "It's complicated."

He turned to Daniel.

"It would a bit rude to ask Chase," he whispered, "but does he have two sides to his personality? There's a Chase back on my Griffin Rock who has two sides to his personality, so..." He trailed off, a bit embarrassed.

"Yes," Daniel said slowly. "Or so I've been told. I haven't seen his emotionless side, but apparently it's not too bad." He thought a moment. "Wait, so you two are from the same place? Griffin Rock?"

Thaddeus

"Same place, yes, same universe, no- Wait, he's from Griffin Rock?!" he answered and asked.

That would explain how he looked at me, he thought.

((Gotta eat lunch soon, then do some stuff around the house. Once I'm done, I'll get back on.)

"That's where he said he was from," Daniel affirmed. "Why, did he look at you funny?" So... apparently Griffin Rock was small, and Dr Thaddeus Morocco knew everybody there maybe, and so it shocked him that he didn't know Chase? Maybe that's what was going on.

Thaddeus

"Yes, that's why. That's also why I said I wasn't evil, at least not anymore. Not since Cody-" He stopped abruptly. "Never mind. You aren't from Undertale, I know that. You wouldn't understand how the player is Frisk, or anything like that. And no, I'm not from a video game. Well Sans is. Uh, I really don't want to drone on about that. You probably won't think that would be interesting."

Thaddeus seemed a bit flustered.

"I've got no idea what you're saying anyway, it's all just a bunch of nonsense to me." Daniel looked around. "Is everyone here as crazy as you? Where is Undertale, anyway or is it even real? Why would someone be named Sans after a font? This whole world's insane!" Daniel spread his arms, eyes wide, very much exasperated and frightened. Was he going to die here? Were the video game people (what even anyway?) going to kill him? He stood there for a moment, his breath coming hard, before whispering, "Am I going to die here?"

Thaddeus

He looked at Daniel in surprise. What???

"No," he said, "you're not going to die here, not as long as I'm around. Or as long as your friends are alive."

"Now," he said, getting up and pacing in a circle, trying to act strong, "I'm going to answer your questions, one at a time. No, not everyone is as crazy as me, Frisk is a close second. Undertale is real, and is located in sector 27, universe 1-9999. My Undertale, if you could call it mine, is number 296. Sans is a monster in Undertale, although I don't know if he is named after a font. I knew it would confuse you, so I'm sorry. I don't expect you to understand anything I just said." He stopped in front of Chase.

Thaddeus sighed. He didn't know much about how others would react to the multiverse, or react to Undertale in general, or reaction to how crossovers happen {usually by a wormhole connecting the two universes}. He was surprised that Daniel didn't want to kill Thaddeus, or someone else. Usually that's the stories he heard from other universes he traveled to {teleportation is useful}. That was good.
