Somehow in the 3+ times I read the first post, I missed the end date!!!
So I am so so glad it's been extended ^^' let's pretend I didn't do most of these today in a panic after Krin's last post, okay?
A lot of these designs have personal reasons/backstories that I've edited in after posting. They took a while to write up, so I didn't want to risk being so unlucky that the contest ended while I was writing. That would've be awful. Anyway, without further ado, my first ever batch of themed designs:

Where I live, spring comes with the possibility of having all four seasons, calm and storm versions, in one week. The poor meteorologists have the worst time trying to keep up with it. So I've used fire for hot weather, ice for cold, drops for rain, and swooshes for wind, to indicate all the crazy weather springtime brings me.

This is made up of patterns and colors sampled from some of the lovely fruits and veggies that are in season in springtime, like apricots, pineapple, rhubarb, lime, mushrooms, purple lettuce, and garlic.

Spider Roommate Lunemara

In my house, springtime means new friendly spiders moving in. That's especially true this year, as a brief ant infestation invited at least three new spider roommates! But every year I'll spot at least one harmless little buddy in some little corner, helping keep the real pests at bay. I do credit my current spider roommates in helping me get rid of that ant infestation. Thanks little buddies <3

(Side note: After creating and submitting these designs, I noticed the rule(?) of only one design per species. My track record for noticing rules is greeeaaaat.... But both of my Lunemara designs are meaningful to me, and I just couldn't bear to get rid of one. I added an 11th design in the hopes to still meet the criteria for "10 valid designs" in case one of these is invalid. But I hope they're both still eligible to be picked. Sorry!!)

Several years ago, when I was younger, I found a huge frog stuck in between my and my neighbor's fences. I, being a scared little kid, went in and got my mom to help free the poor guy. She had to lift him up and out, and it was so lovely to watch him bound away. I'm sure I'll always remember that frog.
