Krin, I think there might be a problem...I was messing around with designs and generated this guy, but if you look at his ears, the fluff on his ear on your left is kind of off....it's like it's behind the wing and not on the ear itself...

First, for all everyone seems to like the "fluffy kitty" look, I really don't. I liked that Tundra Fur was the way you turned the sleeker cat into an arctic version... now they don't look that different with the tundra fur so its kind of redundant, and honestly to me it just looks too much like the weird back ruff on the Lupora (which is the main reason I'm not so fond of THAT species, so you can imagine how much I like having all my sleek kitties turned into furballs, *sigh*.) If the base model vulnix had just been kept with the sleeker look of the original, but with the same more expressive faces and styling of the body, I personally would have been much much happier. Now they are all bulky... cats, even the ferocious sabretooth, are mostly not that. This looks more like a bobcat on steroids to me than a sabretooth. The second is that the anatomy of the feathered wings is just plain off. The first and second primary wing feathers are shorter than the rest of the feathers. That is just... wrong. No birds have that kind of a feather arrangement. Some have the outer feathers the same size (owls for example), but NOT shorter. It just looks weird to me, and off. It turned my favorite mutation on the vulnix into one that just grates on my nerves each time I look at it. *sigh* I don't really like the Demon Wings much better, old or new, so I think my six vis project for the vulnix may just get sold off. I suppose that will give me a stable i can fill with Lighirha in summer though, so that's not necessarily such a bad thing. I do recognize all the hard work that went into this kind of a change (thanks for everything you guys do to make this a better site every day!), and I am really curious how the Drael will be revamped, I'm just kind of disappointed at some of the specific changes of these guys. Like others, I miss the sleek look of the original. I just hope if you do decide to add another sleeker house cat design, its a little more refined than the silly looking puffadores. I've never been fond of them... too much like all those yappy little dogs that grate on my nerves in real life. Although, if the shop that sells puffs was given a new species of sleek little cats, it might get me to start taking the arena seriously, lol. So at a guess, after the Drael will be the Morko? Poor things get no respect as it is, almost as little as the poor Drael. Both should be interesting... I like Morko females the way they are, but have never been fond of the sadistic look on the males. Will be interesting to see what if any changes you make to them, and the other pets you revamp.

I just wanted to say as some one who is overall new to the game/community that I loved your post. Even thought I like the change, I thought you had some very well considered points. It's nice to see an online community that doesn't devolve into obnoxiousness and name calling over a disagreement. I don't think there can be any kind of artistic change that everyone will agree on. I hope if they do make another cat species in future that it's more like what you and some of the others who've posted here invasion, because obviously you've put time and thought into it.

Seeing as I am a HUGE cat person, I am straight up IN LOVE with this redraw. Granted, it's a huge change from the original artwork, so I can understand why people are disappointed, but I personally plan to hug them all, and call them "Fluffy" til the cows come home lol.

He mentions in the first post that there are layering problems still being fixed. :)

Overall, I like the changes...I just wish I female version looked a little more...feminine? Petite? Something in the body shape that gives a hint to gender (other than long lashes on the eyes) would be nice...

My poor Mira was so cute and petite, and now I have a hard time telling that she's a she. :(



Also, thinking that the use of colors that were unused before (ears and shoulders) are causing some heartache for those that had 'vintage' Vulnyx. We got the colors the way we wanted them, but now there's extra that wasn't there at the start...

I think that this update was needed to go along with the various other new features on the site and I LOVE the new designs. The vulnyx before were questionable in my mind and reminded me of my house-cat with fangs, now these cats look like they can survive in the wild and b the hunters not the hunted. They look like they can survive harsh winters, make it through hard times, rise up to the challenges of the wild, and protect the users of this site against wild sylesties. I didn't really like battling with vulnyxes, because they looked frailer than my other pets. Sure, they looked sleek and somewhat dangerous, but now they look like they're ready for war and what the big cats in the wild(lions, tigers, leopards, etc.) look like. I really appreciate the way that this site is growing. The artists that work for this site do amazing jobs, like what they did on vunyxes and event release pets, like luffoxes. I will probably start some vulnyx projects and battle with my vulnyxes, because I have more faith in them now.

Overall, I think updates on sylesties should continue, because I know that they'll get better and better. Keep up the good work guys!

The new design is nice and has a lot of great detail that the original was lacking. However the change makes me very sad. The vulnyx was actually my second favourite pet (right after the Qitari) and I had a bunch of projects planned for them, but now I don't think I can even use any of those designs anymore. ;_;

I've captured a good number of Vulnyx since I joined in April and now I cringe when I look at lot of them because they're just wrong now. I wish I could dye them to make them worth keeping, but there's no way I can get enough dye for that when I need it for existing projects. I know I'll find more that I like since I do enjoy the new design and have seen several displayed here that I would love to have, but I can't help the grief I feel over the Vulnyx I used to love and now have to let go.
