Hello Krin, I was just curious since a lot of people seem to be having this problem, after discussing in region chat:
Everybody's baskets are giving repeats of the same fish, often many times in a row. For example, I got 5 sea turtles in a row, out of 6 baskets; that seems odd to me. Is it a bug, or is it just randomly strange luck?

Just random luck. We use PHP's built in random generators so I don't see how it could be working incorrectly. Thank you for letting me know though. I'll keep it in mind if oddities continue.
We have made some additional updates to Sylesti Seeking.
8/25 Updates
-Further increased chance of finding Beach Creatures.
-Increased chance of finding Beach Creatures with Wooden Tools, however they can no longer find Fabled Beach Creatures.
-Increased chance of finding Pure Water and Pure Clay.
Wow - it is a lot easier to find water and clay. Much appreciated!
That said, it's still impossible to find any beach creatures outside of those bundle/basket things. I'm not talking about "I only searched a few tiles and didn't find any" or "I can only find a creature once every other move or so." Like... I've been doing a lot of seeking this week (used up every shovel/fishing line I've gotten so far), and not a single creature item. It's one thing for them to be rare, but... isn't it a bit weird that they're this impossible to find? And I'm really hesitant to sink any money or anything into buying mystical shovels or whatnot because so far, the iron and mystical shovels haven't actually seemed to increase my chances of getting anything. So...
1) Am I doing something wrong?/Is there something I missed? (e.g. do the creature items only appear in the water, and not in the sand or some such thing that would actually put some level of strategy in the seeking?)
2) If not, and it really is all just luck (or even just mostly luck), is there any chance you guys could work on making it a little less impossible? It doesn't have to be a "so easy, everybody ends up with 10 creatures in a week" - I totally get that you guys don't want the themed creatures to be too common. But I think, just as you were able to find more of a middle ground with the clay and water (still not making it easy, per se, but also not making us want to throw our hands in the air and give up), you can find more of a middle ground with the creatures.
Anyway, thanks for working so hard on this.
Edit: Oh, and P.S. I meant to say earlier that I think it's awesome that you can find eggs as well as chests in the Festival Zone now. I do think that's really cool. Just wish the Sylesti Seeking game was less impossible is all.

Taking a look at your history, you're having rotten luck. =\ The global average would put you at about 2 Beach Creatures for the amount of Seeks that you've done thus far.
Unfortunately, that just is how it goes sometimes. I wish we didn't really have to rely so heavily on luck, but it's very time consuming and requires a lot of coding structure to create games of skill rather than just luck. And without luck, there'd be so many pets in the game atm that they wouldn't carry any value with two exceptions... either making things take a ton of time or a ton of gold/diamonds - neither of which would really be any better IMO.
Moving forward, we want to shift features from luck-based to skill-based, but it's hard to do that for things atm.
That being said, the best tip to increase your chances is to move as frequently as possible. More moves = more boosts. If you're able to spare 50 Diamonds/150k gold for a move, that greatly increases your chances of finding boosts.
When you have a boost, be sure to use your best possible Tool to Seek it.

Hmmm... well, thanks for the advice, at least. I can't argue with the fact that making more things cost more diamonds/gold is not the best option, and there's no denying that what you guys are doing with coding is already tough/impressive as it is, so I can't blame y'all for being hesitant about trying to make the games more complicated and skill-based.
