I almost always check those first and respond to all of them. Pings usually the last thing I check, and sometimes I don't check them at all. So if the message is urgent (ex: want to quit), pm me.

Nope. Your character(s) are free to express themselves however they desire through their clothes, as long as it isn't inappropriate. I usually imagine the character wearing whatever is described or shown in their description.
