So not really breeding for stats then. Thank you anyway. I was just really hoping there was a way to breed gradually stronger sylesties. Not so much nurturing or any other assistance based choices. But oh well. Guess breeding is just for looks then.

If you're talking about just breeding, if the parents have different base stats, the baby can come out with stats close to the higher parent's one, the lower parent's one, or just somewhere in between. The baby can't be higher than the highest parent unless you do something to increase it. That's my understanding of it.

where I get most of my stat breeding info from >> http://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=15507&page=2#15

one question.... in the images, lets say I make it two 3rd gen pets from the same genealogy, I can't breed them together right??? to breed two 3rd gens their genealogy would have to be different.

if that is true what's the best way to stat breed while staying around the genes I want to have on my final pet?
thanks

Well, technically so long as the pets don't share any parents, they can breed. so parent-child, sibling-sibling, step sibling-step sibling can't be bred. Whereas uncle/aunt-niece/nephew, cousin-cousin, grandparents-grandkid can.

But if what you're going for is stat breeding, you probably don't want to breed with past generations. Because the kids will have stats anywhere between the stats of both parents. So if there is a big difference between the parents, the kid may come out with a high or low stat.

So what you'll want to do is to breed one generation, philtering each one as they hatch, breed that generation with each other, philter, and so on until you hit the base cap.

Here's a good guide to stat breeding: http://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=16129

You can breed pets together if they are both adults, not closely related (share a parent), and are not recovering (for females)

If both pets are yours:
Go to generator under account (old system like hatchery) or explore (new system like forum). At the generator page, there is a breeding ground. click that, and choose the species and pets.

If one pet is not yours:
Go to the other pet's profile page and click view prices. Then choose the stable and pet of yours you want to breed, and click breed.

Hope this helps. =)

44deadlynatters,
click on breeding grounds under the explore tab. Choose the breed (Qitari in this case), update the breeding generator, and choose your pets from the drop down list. click "breed pair", and an egg should be added to your hatchery. =)

Jai,
No. =P
One essence will make one pet. you can't combine essences together to make a pet with more traits.
