I think the main problem with the old design was the fact they were too humanoid

I adore the art of the adults so I too would love to see the art still used here on the site(even though I still would love them as lunes). Making them another race of people, held items, basis for avi costumes, a separate species, ect are all still viable options.

Nope. Not at all.
We wouldn't post these previews if we didn't want everyone's feedback. And feedback isn't very helpful if it isn't honest.

In my greatest opinion, I think it would be best to just redo the adult line art, as the baby line art is really cute and I think a lot of people like the baby lines!

Here's an idea I'll toss out. The current Lunemara design has both the adult female and adult male hovering. Why not give a try-out to a "Lunemara standing" and/or a "Lunemara landing/taking off" pose? Lunemaras are hard-working lil' bugs, after all. A standing Lunemara could have her/his foremost pair of legs raised, ready to perform a task. A landing or taking-off pose would be dynamic. I could especially imagine a pose where the Lune is back-winging so it lands hindmost feet-first.
"Backwinging" is an action whereby a flying creature deliberately stalls in the moment before landing. It allows the creature to make an extremely precise landing. If it turns out the landing spot is actually a dangerous place, backwinging prepares the creature to instantly take off again or even to perform a touch-and-go. Below is a photograph of a carpenter bee who is just beginning to backwing as she prepares to land.
She has begun to raise her head and thorax above the level of her abdomen. Though her wings are still a blur to us, she is actually flapping slower than she would be for simply flying. And she has extended her hindmost and middle pairs of legs, because she will touch down on her hindmost legs first, then the middle pair, and the front pair last.
I wasn't able to find a photo of an insect that is a bit later in the process of backwinging to a landing. However, if you look at this owl--
--you can see the moment where the body becomes nearly vertical, head is tipped down so as to see the landing spot, and legs are well extended.
Anyhow, there's nothing wrong with Lunemaras hovering, but I thought perhaps folks might like to consider alternate poses. The image below is of a hummingbird moth, hovering. It is here merely because hummingbird moths are way cool.
And maybe just a tiny bit Lunemara-like.

Would pretty much echo the majority in terms of face, arms of the male and the body being too segmented and smooth rather than fluffy. Also prefer the wing area to be larger for the top wings, but I do like the more pronounced tip.
I whipped up some pictures for show:
With the face less fluffy:

Thanks for taking in all of our feedback, Krin. =3 That's what I love the most about this website is that the administrators like you actually take what we members say to heart. Sorry we didn't really like the Lunemara adult line art. It was still beautifully made and I give props to the artist(s) for spending their time on these! I hope them redoing the lines completely won't be too taxing for them!
