I know on my mother's side that i'm German and Danish,so i decided to do the danish side mainly because some of my ancestors on that side helped Jews flee Germany during the holocaust.I've never been there but i would love to go there someday
I didn't realize how HARD it is to work with only two colors for designs...

My dad's side of the Family is Scottish/Irish so...i decided to go with the more colorful of the two flags,Ireland.

D.C.U Week of 7/14/2020 The Ice Queen
FUN FACT:Frozen is kinda based on this...funnily enough
The story is split into 7 parts,i personally only remember the last one BUT i found a summary of the story online,also the child named Kay also is called Kai in some versions
A hobgoblin has created a magic mirror which magnifies ugly and evil things, the mirror broke and got everywhere.Two small children ,a boy, named Kay, and a girl, named Gerda are neighbors and best freinds.The ice queen visit kay and piece of the magic mirror turns his heart to ice,because of this he starts acting mean to Gerda.
The snow Queen takes kay off with her,Gerda goes and does multiple things to get him back,or to have him return.She eventually find out of the Snow Queen taking Kay from a robber girl.People help her get to the snow queen's palace
The only way to free kay from the magic from it is to remove the pieceof the magic mirror in his heart.The snow queen abandons kay and Gerda eventually finds him,she cries and it melts the mirror in his heart and he returns to normal
They return home together
(yes it's alot....)
I decided to do the two children
Gerda and Kay
Kay i did mostly diffrent shades of blue.because most of the story he's cold and mean to Gerda,and multiple times it says he almost is freezing to death so... Gerda i wanted to make look as "normal" as possible but add in the warm spring vibes that "Melt" the magic in kay's heart,all the red represents the shoes that she orginally gave up trying to bring him back
After doing these two designs i noticed it's very much winter and summer >~< which fits the two

Mollymauk Tealeaf Inspired Hand Tattoo
Molly is a favorite character of mine who has...so many tatoos.I've seen a few henna based attempts at someone making them but most i've seen IRL have ended up being of the snake and flowers on his hand,i ended up using some colors(maily the purples) from the character as they just fit in well

Alpha Scorpii
AKA:Bright Red Antares,Heart Of The Scorpion
Alpha Scorpii is the 16th brightest star in the sky, and it is located in the southern half of Earths sky.It was discovered by the Austrian astronomer Johann Tobias, in 1819 during a lunar occultation,but the star's existence was not confirmed until 1846.similar in appearance to Betelgeuse.
In Polynesia, Scorpius is often seen as a fishhook, with some stories describing it as the magic fishhook used by the demigod Maui to pull up land from the ocean floor that became the Hawaiian islands. According to the University of Hawaiis Institute for Astronomy website, the Hawaiian name for Antares, Lehua-kona, seems to have little to do with the constellation. It means southern lehua blossom.
(It's times like this i wish the heavy scaled plating looked better for scorpion looks)

I learned a few things...Apparently The Spix's Macaw went extinct in the wild around 2018,but some live in captivity
Passenger Pigeon Went Extinct September 1, 1914
The Eastern Puma Declared Extinct in 2018
West African Black Rhino Declared extinct in 2006
(On thing i will say is that the Color pallet said the color i used for the eyes 8F6C66 was named copper rose and i just felt like i should share that??)
