Bane, personally I go by what Jesus taught, or at least I try.
If you think about the Lord's Prayer, which was first uttered by Jesus, teaching his disciples to pray, He gave God glory first. Then He aligned Himself with God's will ("Your kingdom come, Your will be done....."). Then he makes his requests: for today's food, forgiveness for sins (though of course Jesus was speaking of our sins, not His, since He never sinned), and protection from temptation as well as deliverance from evil. See the Gospel accounts for more detail.
Now, I doubt Jesus' intent was that every prayer had to have all these things; we know Jesus prayed in other words at other times, so this wasn't meant to be the only way to pray. Jesus spoke simply and clearly in His recorded prayers. He seemed to be using His own words, though sometimes I think He quoted Old Testament scripture, which as a Hebrew man of His time He would have known well.
So, my personal choice is to pray like I'm talking to someone I love and respect very much, like a beloved father figure. We are told that we can come to God and basically call him "Abba, father". The Hebrew "Abba" basically meant "Daddy". That is just the kind of relationship we are meant to have with our Father God. And we can have that, even if we aren't close to our Earthly father. I've been a Christian since I was 17, and in that time I have ever so slowly learned to feel and begin to grasp God's love, though no human mind can totally grasp it because it's just_that_BIG.

There is no wrong way to end prayers. God wants to hear what you want to say. Insulting him might be considered wrong, though I doubt you are doing that.

I honestly don't think there's a particular right or wrong way.

Hi everyone! How's everyone this Tuesday night (at least Site time it is)? Hopefully you are blessed (whether you know it or not).
Anyone have prayer requests? I have a request for God to help my family members draw closer to Him. Please feel free to share your requests as well.
