~"Gemstone" Mandatory Challenge~
(Dragon's Challenge)


With this challenge, you must design a pet based around an actual gemstone. A gemstone, for those that don't know is an uncommon stone you can find in nature. Jewelers often use them for jewelry. Some are more rare than others, and a good number of different types are use as what we all know as "Birthstones" which are associate with the month in which you were born. Mine is a Sapphire. This challenge though tricky, is going to prove to be a beautiful one. So let's see what you all can bring to the table, and good luck!

REQUIREMENTS
1.) A reference picture is needed, so we can all see what gemstone you chose.
2.) You must explain why you chose the gemstone you picked to base your design off on.
3.) Not only must your design be based around the color of the gemstone you chose, but you must also explain the supernatural beliefs based around that said gemstone. (EX:Bolivinite/Ametrine is associated with the Star sign Libra and also has a strong healing energy that releases negativity from within the aura, and aids weight loss, as well as helping you to release your addictions. It helps to enhance mental and spiritual clarity, while at the same time uniting masculine and feminine energies.)
4.) Please do not make your designs bigger nor smaller than the example given blow!!
5.) Limit of 3 designs per person.

Gemstone Of Choice: Sapphire



Reasoning: I chose this gemstone, because it goes with the month of my birth September. It is a beautifully rich and vibrant blue color that in a way draws you in.

Beliefs: The magnificent and holy Sapphire, in all its celestial hues, is a stone of wisdom and royalty, of prophecy and Divine favor. It is forever associated with sacred things and considered the gem of gems, a jewel steeped in the history and lore of nearly every religion. To the ancient and medieval world, Sapphire of heavenly blue signified the height of celestial hope and faith, and was believed to bring protection, good fortune and spiritual insight. It was a symbol of power and strength, but also of kindness and wise judgment.

My inspiritaion: Jade


Reasons: I picked Jade because it was one of my favorite gemstones. It has beautiful coloring. I just really like it. ( :

Beliefs: Jade is used during meditation to allow people to see past self-limitations. It has healing powers and can help you discover your inner truth, and give you your full potential.

Is there a specific kind of stone they have to be? Like some gems, are only Half-Gems? (Sorry I don't know how you call these in English) Like Quartzes, man-made gems and such. Do they count as well, or does it have to be the "pure" Gemstones like Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald and such?
