Having gotten lunch, Detective DeHaro opted to eat in the park, taking a seat on a bench under a very suspicious normal-looking oak tree to shelter from the rain.

Yuuko sat next to him, shoving chopstick wrapped with noodles from his takeout container into his mouth. He thumbed through his phone idly, looking up at the sky.
At least the rain was starting to leave the area again. Weird to see a flash storm like that..

MIkal (park)

Mikal had been about to un-bark himself when the duo appeared. Great, now he was tuck...and the food smelled so good....His stomach was practically rumbling, luckly the sound of the wrain covered that.

(now I just feel bad for him, lmao)

"So. Haro. You said you had a lot to wrap your head around. Didn't think you were going to say anything with Miko around.. But I still wanted to ask what if it was about..-"

DeHaro
(Park)
DeHaro was mumbling and halfway through a bite of spiced chicken, motioning Yuu to wait as he swallowed.
"..Rei? Yeah.
Ran into her again on this one. Guess they were doing something in the plaza here, but all I know is what they were sneaking today just made me feel the same way when I got my mark here a few years ago."

He leaned back against the bench exasperated, rubbing the back of his head.
"I don't know if I should bring this one up to the chief or not.. I know he trusts me to look after our branch, but when it comes to stuff like this, I don't know if it's out of our hands or not, Yuu."

Yuuko
"..Weird. I'll see what I can dig up about that, but can't say I know much else either. You already know I'm not really the type to give you the best advice, Haro."

DeHaro
"Yeah, yeah.. Don't remind me, Yuu." He said with a bit of a laugh. "Sometimes you're so blunt, you even set yourself off."

Mikal found it extremely hard to act like a wet tree. He'd doen some research-basic, mind you-on trees in weather (very handy thing to do) but dropping your branches in certai nways was....well, impoosssible for him.

He also really wanted to rest his arms but couldn't drop them to his sides, sadly. He did risk adjusting himself a little, accidently shakign a few wet leaves onto the duo on the bench.

"..And we picked the one tree that the wind's hitting." He sighed.

Yuuko
(Park)
"I don't know if that was wind, dude. Maybe a squirrel or bird or something, but it felt like that tree just straight up splashed me."
Yuu grunted, wiping a bit of rainwater from his face onto his sleeve.

Mikal shook a litle with laughter, unable to let it go. More water splashed down.

His arms swayed a little out of tiredness and he fought to keep them up-he'd have to work on bodybuidng later for sure.


(TUrning into a tree is a very normal power compred to some of the more questionable powers my characters have.)

It's just a tree is so simple, there's a lot of humor potential in that)

Yuuko shot up at the motion and laugh, staring dead at the tree to see if he had imagined it.

"Yuu, you good?"

Yuuko
Yuuko just narrowed his eyes and sat back down. "Yeah. Just the rain getting to me."

DeHaro
"Well, we should probably finish up quicker then. We can save the rest of the conversation til we get back in the station, yeah?"

Yuuko
Yuuko muttered a "don't have to tell me twice" through a mouthful of noodles.

Mel wandered back to the park. She had sworn she had heard Rei's voice, but from the distance it was impossible to locate her position. She saw Yuuko and Deharo as she went over and casually leaned on the tree (because why not).

She frowned at it. "Has this always been here?" She asked not quite sure.

She could almost swear that she had not seen this tree when she was patrolling, but who knows maybe she was getting it confused with some other tree.
