"Well I wouldn't mind, but it would probably take time to teach you and we're on the move..." he trails off. "It all depends on if you want to reach the settlement tonight, or camp again and go into it in the morning. In that case we can stop early and I've more than enough time to teach you and actually get something to eat out of it."
Shootingstar kicks at the ground, still managing to wait patiently but clearly ready to go. The pups watch on, and the phoenix are circling in the sky as usual.

(That would be the case, yes. Thanks for reminding me c:)
He chuckles. "That's what they all say. No-one round here has any gold," he says light-heartedly. "Alright. I've got a task for you, but it isn't easy and it will probably take you the rest of the day... and involves searching around the ancient forest."

"I think camping again and going in the morning would be the safest choice," Asteria says, "Shootingstar we need to resupply and if we camp tonight there is a lesser chance of us getting hurt in the settlement."

(Starpup5 is travelling to a dwarven settlement at the foothills before the mountains of the northern territories. Right now she hasn't got winter gear but will need it to go any further. So basically I'll probably make it that the mountains are a no-go without gear at this time of year but there are settlements before then that you can get it)
The yeti makes a keening noise, and it's clear to see it doesn't want to go any further upriver. It clambers up the riverbank, looking down at you from on top - not going your way but not leaving either.

(There is no specific time in Anaia. Doing that for every single person who have progressed different amounts of time would be too difficult to do, and as for seasons you would eventually have ages in one that made everything harder. Instead, familiars grow up with in-game days and seasons are roughly the same as in real life. So everyone will start experiencing snow wherever they are - though for example if they're in the mountains it will be more likely - by real-life 15th of November in this Anaian year)
"Hm... at this rate (roughly judging from how quickly time is going for you so far) I'd say the snows could come possibly in 3-4 (Anaian) days," Torgdan shrugs. "Really depends."

"Hm..I'm up for the task," I say and turn to Brazentalon. "Do you want to go?"

Shootingstar thinks about that for a moment before nodding slowly.
"Plus it gives us time to perhaps collect things that we could sell for gold or trade in for other supplies. This is a dwarf settlement, remember. They will use a gold currency a lot more than the other cities who don't have a readily available source of gold."
Emberpaw yips, and Crimson looks excited. "We can have gold??" she barks. "Tell me what I'm collecting 'cos I want some!!"

He rustles his wings and nods. "A bit of excercise wouldn't hurt."
The dwarf drums his fingers on the counter. "Right. What I need are borealis 'shrooms. They grow under the canopy of the ancient forest in the darkness, but if you're on ground level you won't miss them. They shine like stars with all the colours of the rainbow. I need five decent sized ones for an alchemist client of mine."
He then scrunches up his nose, thinking. "...but I would feel bad if I only gave you a measly blanket for them. Ten gold coins are in it for you as well. Or another item on my stall, should it be worth the same."
It betrays the fact that this favour may be a tad more difficult than he's saying. It doesn't escape your notice that the darkest parts of the ancient forests are where wyverns are found lurking. But if you want some gold to easily buy something else with no favours needed, or other supplies from this vendor, then it could be worth it.

"We could possibly trade pelts from creatures," Asteria suggests, "or try to make items a dwarf might want."

You've finally made it to Thatchburg - the second largest settlement you're ever going to find in the central territories. Centaurs move by you with purpose, some in gangs and others hurrying their various ways alone. But trade still blooms here just as much as in the Adventurer's Crossroads. People exchange coins and favors as you watch.
Well if she had to find someone, Thatchburg was as good as any place to start. This half of the city bustled as noisily as ever, nomads reconnecting, treaties being drawn, and a multitude of vendors calling out on all sides. Meriah turned towards the exotic merchants, those who travel far from the central territories and tend to pick up gossip. A tale about such a rare-looking coat such as Theillar's may have stood out, even if it was several years ago.
(do you have a name for my herd?)
