This Sylestia was inspired by how winter festivals used to involve blood sacrifices to make sure that the sun would rise again the next year. Because at that time of year the sun would only rise for a few hours a day the Griffi is mostly black, and the little sun there was would do little to warm the earth so the white glow over the wings and feet symbolizes the tiny shreds of light visible between dead tree branches and the white on the feet is snow. The red is the slash of the knife down onto the doomed animal.

My inspiration is the winter snow as the sun goes down and it starts to have blue shadows and the snowflakes look like glitter on top of a white and blue blanket covering everything.

Midwinter Griffi
My griffi is based off the winter solstice or midwinter as it is sometime called. It is the time when the shortest day and longest night happens. You can mostly see the effects of it in the northern hemisphere. I it is also referenced in pagan/neolithic times, when the stonehenge was built. I am not going to do about the sacrifices of the calfs/the beer and partying that go on. I am going to do the significance of the sun and the night. The dark and lighter blue signifies the colour of the sky that always appears over this time. The white signifies the the sun and of course the snow. The druidic essence says of the people it comes from. And of course for me i love dark designs.

Inspired by wishing on a star for snow, something I did all the time when I was a kid before bedtime during winter.

This Griffi is inspired by the Northern Lights. Although the Northern Lights aren't specifically a winter-only phenomena, living in Canada, when I think Northern Lights, I think of the snow and cold up north in places where winter never seems to end, and where you see the Aurora Borealis best.

Melted Peppermint Griffi
During winter my family and I always eat peppermints and peppermint candy canes, especially around the holidays. I like to melt the candy cane in my mouth, where the stripes start to fade and it starts to turn pink. This design shows that effect. I feel like the wispy wings represent the cool breath you get after eating the mints! In conclusion; peppermints always remind me of the holidays- especially candy canes!

Father Christmas Griffi
Father Christmas delivers the presents to human children each year. He's famous for his long white beard, red robes, and kind smile. But at Christmas in Sylestia, the griffi Mother Christmas delivers gifts. Her whirling snow is the equivalent of reindeer, carrying her among the wind. Her snowy runes show of her wintery heritage, and the position that she is born into, and her final marking shows of Christmas spirit.
wsip was created because she is born out of the love and care we give out family i made her because to me she feels like a christmasss spirit to me she is the meanin g of christmas to me she means love, caring and compassion she like family to me :D

This is a Christmas Pudding Griffi, or an any pudding griffi. Something with those dried fruits in to give it colour! ^.^
