-Night Sky-
With the clouds in her mane,
and the stars on her wings,
wearing darkness as a cloak around her.
She whispers our dreams,
she sings to our hopes,
and in darkness steals our sleep away.
Lie awake, stare at the stars,
imagine those worlds unseen.
The Night Sky looks back at us...
...and inspires.
(Edit: I didn't look at any of the competition until after designing her... and there are a lot more starry entries then I imagined. Bother...)

Mercury, the guardian of wisdom and water
Mercury is as old as time it self. created by the ruler of the univers to guard the wisdom and the water. Over time she have gatherd all the wisdom she can find, scripts, thoughts, Everything containing the wisdom of the world was gatherd by her. All from prophesys to scrifts of fact. However as the guardian of the wisdom she bilt a castle within her lake there she would place the knowlegde and wisdom collected by her. Only those she deemed to have a pure heart and mind would be allowed to enter her palace of water. The rest would be either drowned or flushed up on shore.
(yes my influence for this one is Sailor Mercury, the sailor soldier of water and wisdom! I love that show :D )

Hello, my name is Rosie!.
I choose the name Rosie because it was the name of my beloved chihuahua. I had her for 10 years before she passed in 2012. It helps that I have some of her still here...................how you ask? Years ago Rosie had 2 sons. Petrie and Meeko.
Petrie was given to a lady down the road from us. So when he was old enough she breed him. His brother Meeko, lived with 2 families before coming back home. So Petrie fathered alot of puppies before he passed away. He died as a result of being attacked by a bigger dog. I have 3 of Petries daughter.
Meeko just passed away a couple of weeks ago. But in the end I still have Rosies granddaughters. I see some of her personality in all of them. I will never ever forget my Rosie. She will forever be in my heart.

Alyeska Kelpari
This little dude was born up at the Alyeska ski resort here in Alaska :) we still have snow up in our mountain tops, and the combination of green and snow makes for beautiful pictures :) I was looking at them when I saw this contest and thought that would be perfect. I put him up as a baby because otherwise his monarch doesn't show :( and it makes it look like he has the spring thaw happening with ice cracks along the lakes. so he doesn't look snow capped like the mountain :D He loves to play in thawing lakes, and chase salmon when they come up the streams later in the year.

Illusion
of the Deep
From the bottom of a canyon whose depths the sun's rays can't hope to reach, a Kelpari dared to dream that there was more than the darkness to which she was born. As a hatchling, her queer dreams of dancing lights that came neither from the earth below nor a living thing were dismissed as childhood fancies. As she grew older, even her own family became disturbed by her unwavering belief in the lights from above.
Still, her strange belief seemed harmless enough and everyone was content enough to nod politely and call her eccentric. She began sharing her ideas in the gathering places of her people. Amusement and tolerance turned to horror when she started gathering a small following of true believers. The priests labeled her a heretic and ran her out to the uncharted territories. Alone and far from the vents around which food grew and life gathered, she had nowhere to go but UP. The night was overcast when she reached the surface and she despaired at the absence of the lights she dreamed about. Voices startled her and she dove again beneath the waves.
"Must have been an Illusion," the captain muttered to himself despite the crew's insistence that there had been a strange glowing Sylesti, unlike any to be found so far in the open ocean, in the water.

Aurora of the Northern Sea
Along the northern coast of Sylestia the sea seems to be a cold, dark and deserted place. But Aurora knows differently. Contrary to popular lore, her herd inhabits the sea. Not the inland ponds, rivers and lakes. Aurora knows the beauty of the sea creatures and all its dangers as well.
Kelpari are related to Qitari and follow many of the same instincts, especially regarding herds. The alpha stallion will stay on the outskirts to protect and watch over the herd.... but the real leader is the alpha mare Kelpari, in this case, Aurora. Borealis is her soul mate and alpha stallion. Aurora became the alpha mainly due to her common sense and her innate ability to find the best and safest seaweed pastures. But she also won the hearts of her herd mates because of her selfless bravery.
One cold winter night while the herd was swimming through the rolling waves, an unexpected storm blew in and caught everyone unprepared. One small Kelpari could not fight the current and was caught in a rip tide. Before anyone noticed.... the little one was out of sight. While Bore led the herd to a safe harbor to weather the storm, Aurora took count of the herd. Quickly she learned that a little one was missing! She immediately started searching, sending all others on to safety. For hours she searched in worsening conditions until finally, she found the little one hiding in a small cave in the reef. The poor thing could not be coaxed out of his hiding spot, and it was too small for Aurora to enter. Instead of leaving, she stayed and protected the baby from all the predators and monsters of the deep. The next morning the herd found her and the baby, safe and sound.

Dawn's Eternal Hope
Hope the length's OK
In the beginning the world shone with a brilliant radiance, light flowed through every stone, plant and creature illuminating its beauty and all sylesti lived peace and harmony with each other and the land. But One sylesti wanted to have more light than the others. He began to build walls so that he alone could enjoy the light of particularly radiant areas. But as he grew selfish the light within his walls and within himself began to fade. As his light grew dimmer his greed grew and he gathered more and more radiant things within his walls and he extended his walls to encompass more. As his own light dimmed more he began to try to remove the light from other plants and objects to replenish his own light, but he only succeeded in destroying them. He became frenzied in his attempts to restore his fading light and he destroyed much that had been beautiful. As he was searching beyond his walls for more things to try and take light from, he heard joyous laughter, and as he watched a band of sylesti hatchlings came into sight. They were more brilliant than anything he had taken so far and in his frenzied madness he began to hate them for their light and joy. Suddenly he rushed from his hidden vantage point and seized one of the young sylesti. In his rage and hate he attempted to rip the light from the radiant sylesti. As the small sylesti's life faded, so did the last of the selfish sylesti's light. And death entered the world.
All the world mourned this first death and the Dark One was banished to the wasteland he had created. But as the Dark One's anger festered in his banishment he ensnared some sylesti with the temptation of dark power and as his followers grew he began to prepare to destroy the light for, though he still craved it, contact with it burned his corrupted soul, and if he could not have light then none would. As he began to make war on the world, fear and darkness spread. Some joined him, some fled, and some banded together to fight the Darkness. But alas, the last of the light faded from the world and all lived in the dark.
Among the those who resisted of the darkness was a young purple Kelpari. She, and all the remaining sylesti, had lost their outward lights but light sill shone in the hearts of those who fought back. This young Kelpari had heard a legend, that down in the depths of the of the deeps chasm in the ocean, Light remained. She set out on a perilous journey to retrieve this light and return light to the world. After many arduous months and difficult trials she reached her destination and found the Light. She began to pull the Light up through the ocean but, as she swam she began to feel a heat emanating from the Light she was carying. Even she, who had some of the purest light in her heart, had lived in darkness for to long to stay in contact with such a Light without being burned. But despite the pain she continued to lift the light upward to ward. As she neared the surface the sylesti on the land saw a glow on the eastern horizon and when she burst from the water, holding the Light aloft, all could see the gold and pink marks that had been seared onto her fins and purple flanks. As she flew higher the Light illuminated all the land and the Dark One fled, terribly weakened, but not destroyed. But she could not stay aloft forever and so every night she sinks back into the ocean and rests before arising again and filling the world with light and hope at each new Dawn.

Lotus
Lotus was born to the first flowers, who disowned her after seeing her gills and fins. They shamed her, saying that flowers weren't meant for water, and she should be ashamed of herself. She was cast out, left for the wild to take her. She grew up alone, and soon became the patron of all cast-out children and all water flowers, especially lotuses. She grew up to be famous and outshine her parents, who were instantly regretting their choice to throw her out, and rose to be a beautiful flower.

Tsunami, Traveler of the Tides
I think that the length is too long. . . But that's okay I did this for fun.
"I've got to help them, I can't just float here and let my people be slaughtered!", her thoughts screamed as she started to swim away, out of her place, the shadows. Her herd was on the inner territory of the Kelpari kingdom before they were ambushed by the age old enemy, the sea wolves, the Mare Lupi. "I need to find the Deep Sea Marines, fast, I need to find him." she murmured to herself as she raced to the Southern Marine guard post her light, sturdy body whipping itself forward in the water. "It's so far away!" her conscious complained. She headed to the surface, the moon eerily glittering across the water. It was unnerving to her how the nearest post was another 2 hours away at her top speed. That's when she felt it, the tide, it pushed her forward, she wanted it to go faster, it did. Tsunami wanted the water to be higher, so it rose. She wanted to travel the waves, the tide, at top speed, and so she did. The water welled up at will and shot her across the ocean, traveling on the waves, in a matter of minutes she slammed into the guard post. More accurately a certain Deep Sea Marine that gave her sea-butterflies.
"SHINKAI!!!, gather your squadron the Mare Lupi are attacking my herd 3 hours south from here! If we don't fend them off now they will attack the castle in mere hours!", she yelled loquaciously. From the look in his secret foal-hood sweetheart's eyes and body language he could tell that she wasn't joking. He then swam up to the grand conch shell horn and blew short bursts of deep noises. An immediately the entire southern legion of Deep Sea Marines emerged from the depths of the guard post. "Heichou Shinkai! What's the problem?!", a lower ranked Marine asked. "Stallions we are going to defend the Kingdom! Tonight we are going to head 3 hours south to terminate the threat of the Mare Lupi!", he bellowed with authority before stepping to the side. Now Tsunami stepped in "Marines follow my every move and keep up with me if you can.", she announced. However, some of the stallions were foreshadowing a protest about taking orders from a mare, she shot them down with a jet-stream glare, forcing them to extinguish any doubts they had. To their surprise Tsunami raced for the surface faster than any of the best marines could tread a mile of water, they followed suit.
As many heads popped out of the water, Tsunami yelled "Marines, get ready to surf because we are going to travel the tide!". She dove back down for a short nerve-wrecking moment, she disappeared, only to leap out of the water. While in mid air Tsunami wanted the water to be higher, so it rose, gargantuan waves lifting the floating legion and sling-shot the group across the vast open sea. She wanted to travel the with the marines on the waves , the tide, at top speed, so they did. Heichou Shinkai's deep sea runes glowed brightly in awe an admiration as he saw Tsunami's form leap out of the water, land, and gracefully surf beside him. Right before they reached their destination she looked at him and quickly nuzzled his side, making his runes radiate even more light as he bashfully snorted his response before simultaneously diving underwater. The battle was still raging on. Tsunami, Shinkai, and the Marines wanted to win, an after one hour they did, slaying the leader or the Mare Lupi. The herd deeply thanked the Deep Sea Marines, especially Shinkai for defending not just them, but the kingdom. "Thank you Marines and Heichou Shinkai!", simultaneously worshiped the herd. But Shinkai, saw Tsunami who was heading back to the shadows, to be forgotten. He cut her off and pushed her in front of the herd and bowed to her, many gasps were heard. "You must not thank the Marines and I but, you must thank one of your own herd. If this mare did not use her ability to ride the tide and inform the Marines and bring them here, you all and perhaps the kingdom may have perished tonight. This is Tsunami, Traveler of the Tides." , Shinkai proclaimed but added a mumbled "And my future mate."
Did all end well?
I don't know because it's all up to you.
P.S: If you want to know what Shinkai looks like, please take this and paste it into the generator. :]
I would've posted his picture here but I'm obeying Faiona's 4th rule for this celebration. "4. Please post ONLY ONE image."
Bio: Splash is a Kelpari that loves to splash and play in the water, though he can also run on land and fly in the sky. His favorite activity is to splash. That's why they call him splash.
