I took inspiration from several things:
the dark colors of Halloween, those plastic glow-in-the-dark skeletons, and a nod to the Day of the Dead roses, colored a symbolic color corresponding with what I'd place at my own, or my family's altar.

I don't particularly celebrate All Souls' Day but I absolutely love everything about it. Somehow, it makes me feel better about things: all the colors and happiness that surrounds something other cultures tend to focus on as somber or spooky. To have food and laughter in memory of your loved ones, with altars tailor-made to their likes and character -- it's a wondrous thing.

Inspired by night creatures, so I named it;

This is my Fading Sunlight Ryori. She represents the fading of the light at the end of the day. After the sunset, when the sky is darkening, she dances across the horizon, the last rays of the sun glinting off of her in desperate attempts to light up the sky before falling into darkness. She is a lucky little spirit, helping travelers that lose their way in dark forests. Those that see her are blessed with good fortune and fair weather. She dances through forests and over hills all through the night but she vanishes at the first light of dawn.

Last Leaves Ryori

I took inspiration from the beautiful falling leaves being carried by the wind.

I got the Idea for this one during the contest to design the Summer fest themed pets. I call it "Antarctic Summer", because cold places have summer too.

Here is my Cranberry Ryori! ^ ^

My inspiration is from the sweet cranberry sauce that is passed around the table on Thanksgiving. It alwasy brings back the memories of the night and the fun I had with the family. Who could forget such a sweet taste?

Took inspiration from fall harvest and jam making, specifically berry and apple. Berry and apple everything! Pie, jam, sauce, cookies, pancakes, just about anything can be sweetened by them :)

I took my inspiration from the gothic lolita aesthetic, with kind of a "house haunted by the spirit of a girl who loved flowers and lace" vibe to it. :)

Natures first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

The turning of time, of the seasons - rich, earthy and the slightest hints of that which is still gold. Fallen leaves buffeted by the cold, incoming winds of winter.
