The stump is cooler than you would expect it to be, and makes a hollow noise as you knock on it. A small dent in the bark is made after you strike it.

You haven't heard of a formation like this before, and the only thing that might give you clues is this unusual stump.

Brazentalon nods, peering at the stump curiously.

You notice nothing new after looking over the clearing once more... other than, of course, the branches of the surrounding trees bend over to hide the clearing from the sky and still possess many leaves to further shield this strange occurance.

I hesitate and go back to the stump and hit it with my hatchet, trying to see if there is anything unusual inside of it.

Balthur eases a little, but still looks worried. "You never woke up this early when we were travelling," he says, before shrugging. "But it's a good habit to get into."

He looks troubled, but doesn't question you further. Knight comes over to you but doesn't ask about the goods you aquired.

You go around, looking for the same signs you did last time. You place three snares clumsily on your own, but they'll get the job done. The last you accidentally break and you're forced to discard it.

Your hatchet sinks right into it and opens up a crack that you can glance through. Inside it is dark, but you make out a glint of something unidentifiable inside. Maybe some sort of metallic object.

"Let's just sau that things dont really work out between my body and my brain when I travel." Nicote chuckled.

I turn my hatchet at an angle and start cutting the rest of the stump.

(Too bad about the last snare but it was bound to happen)

After placing the snares Asteria goes to meet up with Numbat.

(Starpup5 is travelling to a dwarven settlement at the foothills before the mountains of the northern territories. Right now she hasn't got winter gear but will need it to go any further. So basically I'll probably make it that the mountains are a no-go without gear at this time of year but there are settlements before then that you can get it)

The yeti makes a keening noise, and it's clear to see it doesn't want to go any further upriver. It clambers up the riverbank, looking down at you from on top - not going your way but not leaving either.

Delirious, not really knowing what else to do, heads back towards where she'd left the yeti. Taking her time to look around the place and observe everything and anything that might be interesting.

Balthur gives a weak smile, slinging a pack over his shoulder. "I've already said my goodbyes. Time to get the cart."

The rotted bark peels away to allow light to fall on an onyx ring. It glints in the faint light, propped on top of a spindle of wood as if even the tree that left this stump behind wanted to have as little contact with it as possible.

"I don't know about mushrooms, but that looks like it would be worth something," Brazentalon chirps, stepping closer to get a better look.
