Now that you've got into the rythm of skinning animals, the hare is easier to deal with than the other two critters you did earlier.

"Right then," Numbat says, getting up. "About time we see if you're a talented trapper to be, eh?"
"Agreed," Asteria quickly says walking toward her traps.

As you reach the gate, you can't help but notice that the guards seem shifty. It takes a little longer to get you through than you'd expect, but soon you are out onto the Adventurer's road once more.
A few hours into your journey you're starving and sore, but Knight and Balthur show no signs of stopping.

(With practice will come skills that you will develop and rely upon in future, no worries)
Crimson trots along with you. Numbat helps you with yours and takes care of his own. Overall, you appear to have caught 3 critters.
"Not bad at all," the goblin says. "The snares that didn't bring us anything we can just leave out overnight and see if that gives us any luck. We can check them in the morning before we head into the settlement."
The creatures are all fed, now you just have to take care of the remaining skins and your own rumbling stomach. Numbat stocks up the fire and gets a happy flame glowing, warming you up in the freezing afternoon air.

Asteria quickly and carefully skins the critters then handed them to Numbat, "Can you please cook these?"
(With me as your narrarator there are never too many words. The more the better, so don't worry about it c: It also means you have more control over your character. If I'm feeling mean and you give me a sentence then I might make something happen that you don't want >:D)
"Weird," Brazentalon murmurs. "As long as they do fade away. If they don't, please try not to touch it again."
As you take the ring from the stump to put it on your pick the same feelings come back to you. For no more than a second, you feel a mental tug to go in a certain direction, but you put it on the shaft of your pick before you can even begin to understand where.
The pick and its ring slide into your pack easily, and you can't feel the pins and needles without being in direct contact with the ring, it seems.
"Wait, look!" the griffin suddenly exclaims. As you watch, the stump that had once held the ring begins to fold in on itself. It finally crumples to the ground silently, the only sign that it was ever there being a dark patch on the ground. Soon, fallen leaves and the shrubbery of the forest will cover that, too.
(oh nu D:)
"Wha-" I say when I turn around. "Woah...that makes me more curious about the origin of the ring. I wonder who made it and why. Welp, now we should go, unless trees are going start magically growing in the clearing too." I say and continue walking deeper in the forest, marking the trees as we go. I also look at the sky to check the time.

It's hard to make yourself comfortable as you trudge down the seemingly never-ending Adventurer's road. Stretching makes you feel little better. The sun isn't anywhere near it's peak, meaning you've got a long way to go yet.
Your stomach rumbles, so loud that Knight peers down at you with a raised eyebrow.

"Sure can," he says, already constructing a spit to cook the animals on. "Bet you'll be hungry after going out trapping for the first time. It does take a while of getting used to."
Crimson jumps onto your lap and curls up, her little ears flicking at the air.

(I'm only messing with you. I've not been mean... yet)
There is no clear view of the time judging from the sky. The leaves of the trees are still enough in number to make it too hard to tell.
Brazentalon hops over to you, wanting to get out of the clearing as quickly as possible.
You both adventure through the forest for a good time more until you notice a distinctly shady patch under a few trees. Something colourful catches your eye by the trailing roots of a tree.
"Now that looks like it could be a borealis mushroom if I do say so myself," Brazentalon says, peering into the gloom.
