I do a lot of breeding, so I name my pets according to what markings they have (' in place where there is no marking, lower case for carried and capital for visible markings) and what tagged pet they are from if applicable.

I'm like Peppershadow, with the addition that some of my pets have names that remind me about their Carried traits, especially if the pet has a trait I don't like and want to breed out of my stables. Not too long after I started playing Sylestia, I bred one of my pets to a mate I would never have picked if I had remembered that my pet had a certain Carried trait. The details aren't important (sold the pet to someone who valued that trait). I decided not to let that happen again.

So for example, this Nixi--



--has Carried Witch Doctor, which I don't care for. To me, the Witch Doctor markings look like the pet has a stylized skeleton's outline painted on them. So I named the vixen Jacqueline Skelington. It's just a little mnemonic so I never forget to consider that trait whenever planning to breed this pet.

Of course, for people who breed lots of pets, my method would not work, but I breed very, very conservatively. Everybody takes their own approach.

Found someone with lots of themed pets, Aprilsong, and she said if you want to breed with any of her festival pets to Pm her ;)

Thanks for the responses on naming! I've decided to go with a naming system that shows both carried and visible genes.

So, if we look at CCQ ''Ba'B, he's a Carrot Cake Qitari with BB gene 3, NA mutation 1, and BB mutation 3. MSL B''''' d''''' is a Maple Syrup Lunemara with BD in gene 1.

Oh and any unwanted zombies I will take I have a extensive horde with multiple of every kind of zombie. Except for Nephini I only have 1 Nephini, but she is my favorite. I bought her with monarch visible and mutated her to have faded stripes. I do have pure bred Nephini offspring as well. Most I plan on selling or giving away.
