My griffi is based off of this song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGTHrcn14AM
"There will be rest, and sure stars shining
Over the roof-tops crowned with snow,
A reign of rest, serene forgetting,
The music of stillness, holy and low...
I will make this world of my devising
Out of a dream in my lonely mind.
I shall find the crystal of peace,
Above me, stars I shall find."
In particular, I attempted to use mostly darker, soothing colors to represent the peacefulness and serenity. The few brighter colors, light blue and white, are for the snow and the stars. The Monarch wings look like the 'crystals of peace'. At first I was going to use Whirling Snow, but I decided not to because the feeling of this song is more about stillness and being at rest, whereas the WHIRLING Snow is... well... whirling. Instead I turned to find an elegant tail that could be colored without adding too much bright blue and white to the design.

Cold Winter's Night Griffi:
They're supposed to represent the harsh beauty of winter, which is why they look kind of cruel. Also, the little orange stripes show that throughout the cold winter there is always a fire lit somewhere to drive away the coldest ice.

faiona will need the hex code from the image. You might want to redo your griffi in the preview generator and then right click on the image that comes up when you click preview and copy image location
come back to your post and post the image location url between the image tags ([.img][./img]) (without the .s ) in order to post the picture the Preview generator gives allowing fai the use of the Hex code should your griffi be chosen.

My Griffi is inspired by a design that Cloudsoda posted close to the beginning of December, and my own family heritage. I call it the Folk Art Griffi, and it is inspired by the wood painting and dance costumes native to Russia and Ukraine. My grandfather is Ukrainian, and we've always had some Eastern European influence on our Christmas because of that. This Griffi reflects the rich colours and floral designs of some of my favourite jewelry pieces and Christmas ornaments/cards.
