As for your questions, Interest is added on at the beginning every month for pretty much anything.
Loans that aren't quite 48-72 hours old yet when that rolls around will have their Interest waived to start the next month.
If it's paid off before the end of the month, no Interest will be due.
Interest is determined by what's still owed, not by the amount taken out.
The hope is by doing this, the interest can be less and less as time passes.
