You fall asleep almost instantly and a dream begins. The enchantress who gave you the crystal is there. She smiles and waves you over.

As always the slaves on break are there talking about what there next job will be. They never really talk about anything interesting.

Purple spikes began to slowly time around you. The same shade of purple as the gem. While different colors of flowers began to sprout as well all the same colors that are swirling around inside the gem, "Your powers, the gem will protect you. You will eventually learn how to use it but it takes some practice." the woman's form dissipated until she had completely vanished.

"So? How's your journey so far, any trouble...? Discoveries...?" she looks at you curiosly.

You sigh and decide to try ang get some sleep before you have to work again. You shift uncomfortablely in your cot, and the talking slaves dont really help at all. You suppose after working here for your whole life a sense of joy would come to you when you see the other slaves, but nothing emotional happens. They were just as important was you, and you reminded yourself of that everyday. So you barely talked to them, only on occasion. Dont want them detecting your inhuman accent either, so theres another reason.

I stare at the gem in wonder and put it in my pocket

"So? How's your journey so far, any trouble...? Discoveries...?" she looks at you curiosly.
"I have all my friend creatures," I tell her, smiling

You hear your owner yelling at another slave about something they did wrong, "The vase was expensive! You'll be receiving a lashing later tonight!" she hollered angrily at the cowering slave.

"You seem to be one who gets along well with animals then. Your gem really is perfect for you!" she shouts happily.

I duck and try to make myself invisible
