You heard a scream again, but it was from a difference person. It seemed to be coming from the tunnel you were in and the one you just left, suggesting they led up and that the guards were telling the truth - it really was a massive underground maze. Torches lit up the tunnel at the end again, you could make out lots of exits along this short tunnel.

Heph felt a thin edge of fear but she squashed it back down. So it was a massive underground maze. She supposed she shouldn't have been so suspicious of the guards. There was no way that she could retrace her steps, so the only way was forward. Hopefully she didn't end up trapped for weeks, she solemnly reflected, or she would die in here. Wait, how did she get so morbid? Fear does do strange things to a person.
Anyway, someone - perhaps two someones - needed help, and she had made the choice to find the person.
She took the first exit in front of her.

(I'll be replying for you for a bit ^^)
You turned to Lemon Balm the herb. it is very common and found in fields. The librarian was watching you with a nervous smile, as if not fully trusting you with the book. You could feel a twist of worry in your gut. There was a gentle mumble in the library as if a lot of people were around, but you couldn't see anyone in your section.

You turned right this time. Mixed in with the screams were echos of words, as if people were talking to each other. At one point you swore you saw a flicker of a shadow. In this corridor it was short and there was no torch, or exits coming off. At the end you could turn left or right. At this point you were lost, you didn't know your way back in the shadows.

I scanned the page and turned to the next one...I could tell the librain was nervouse..."why so nervouse?" i asked still scanning the page,"It's not like i'm going to tear the book to shreads.I enjoyed the peace of the quite library....though it was supriing due to the heat that it was empty...Wonder Why? i asked myself

( X'D Completely lost, somehow I knew this would happen but I was stubborn enough, anyway.)
If Heph could hear echoes, that hopefully meant she was getting closer. She could not spend time chasing shadows and she knew that she was already lost in the tunnels. She guessed it was probably too much to hope that the leader's demon dog -- Heph's nerves were shot enough that she was starting to call everyone and herself all sorts of names -- was somewhere down here as well.
Well, since she just turned right, she would take another right.

She avoided eye contact, busying herself as if ignoring you. Remember you are a magic user. People don't trust you. The heat'd cooled down considerably, the mountain air was cool again. There were many isles of books, someone turned the corner around to yours and were chatting to a friend, oblivious to your existence as they picked out a book.
(I do not know your full story, so just improvising for now. As your narrator, I'll try and make sure I also follow all the rules that are expected of me as well as the stories plot.)

Kuro wasn't a massive fan of tight, dark spaces, let's say. He was often sunbathing outside the tribes hall. Ilya would often tease him for it. He also enjoys terrorising people.. bad kitty. You turned right again and saw another shadow of a flicker as if someone'd just turned the corner away from you.

Slightly heartened at the thought that she might be getting closer, yet worried that she had no means of defense, Heph made an effort to dampen whatever noise she made.
She decided to chase the shadow.

s you turned the corner, you began hearing a wheel as if a cart was being dragged. A shadow flickered down the second left tunnel along the long tunnel you were currently in. You weren't even sure if you were going to find anything, or if this was a trick to get thieves lost.
