Quick question: Will there be only exactly two contest sets, or might we have more? I know I personally started off behind on this set and at this point can't catch up. It would be nice if there would be more chances.

(And I have to say I love the new festival zone! It's really easy to remember and navigate, I've never once thought 'I need to find a map of this place' it's beautiful and intuitive.)

:D Thanks!

There are only 2 Leaderboard Contest Rounds this time around since a week was shaved off of the Festival. I didn't want it to be too heavy on the contests in order to give people enough time to kinda take their time and enjoy the festival.

That's genius! ^0^ Can you infinitely compost the seeds until you get one you like or is it a 1 time kind of thing? :D (Either way it's still awesome!)

Hey Krin, any plans on rebalancing level 70 enemies in the festival zone? The jump from 60 to 70 is a huge difference. My battleboard killing rate has decreased significantly.

I am always looking to making improvements - especially with new things.

As I've just literally been discussing in general chat, the Lost Grove took weeks/months of tweaking and playing with to fine tune, come up with the algorithms, etc, etc. The major reason I at first did not want to go back to the 'old' Festival Zones for Festivals now that content is above lvl 60 is because none of that is able to be carried over.

So since we did end up re-using Astryl's Meadow, I had to quickly add in something for 60+ mobs otherwise they literally would just be defeated in 1 attack and it'd be really stupid and not something we'd ever want to be a 'thing' for high level content. So I had to do what I could with the time I had available. End result is... a very brutish way of making the enemies more difficult with virtually zero testing to tweak for.

Given that I've had some time/feedback/statistics, I can see if I can make some fine tuning to the 60-64 and 65+ enemies to make them a bit more balanced with sub 60. However, they will never be as easy as sub 60 content. Battling in levels 1-59 is essentially just "beginner" territory. With how the Lost Grove equipment and skills and all that work, 60+ begins the "intermediate/advanced" territory. And there is no way to make them "equal" in terms of speed without making the beginner territory too hard/complicated or the intermediate/advanced too easy/simple.

Players who have max stat pets, arena gear, mythical gear, etc... that they can throw onto a lvl 59 pet or whatever level they choose to use will ALWAYS have an advantage when it comes to speed battling. There's just no other way to set it up that'd work. And it is actually something we purposely built into the game with how we set equipment up and how breeding stats work. We want "twink" pets to be a thing.

No idea what you meant by "twink pets". What are those?

I was more wondering... why can a team of 3 level 70 bandits defeat my level 70 max stat + mythical equip + some proficiency with skills ny'vene? It seems super off.

Doesn't seem right that players would have to create a level 60 team and stop exp gains on them in order to speed battle for festivals.

"We" should figure out that Twink isn't part of the average persons vocabulary.

Twink in this usage: A low level pet, with xp turned off, that is vastly overpowered for the level of content that is being completed, via stats and armor. This term would normally only be seen in an MMO. (It is also despised by many people in MMO communities to boot).

"We" ought to figure out that making it a bad idea to use a high level character in the most content filled part of the game, is really, really backwards, as well, pet or character. That would never fly in an MMO if you had to hop on your lowbie to have a fighting chance at something (Namely, the contests that a lowbie is swishing through in 1/3rd the time or less).

"Oh it is like raid content if you're at max level, but you can come in here with your lowbie and it is all trash mobs" No one would ever do that.

Beating a boss in The Grove gave you the anti-reward of all content getting harder and longer to get through, requiring the useage of more healing potions for no increase in reward of any sort.

Now you get double punished for having spent your time leveling, because you get the short end of the stick in the actual Festivals for it on top of getting the short end of the stick in The Grove. Talk about not rewarding the time spent at all. Their pets basically got weaker for being advanced thanks to all of the excessive scaling of enemies, instead of stronger. There is a severe lack of basic respect for the player bases time and effort here.

I quit FF!4 ( one of the top 3 if not the top most popular MMOs) because of this nonsense. Hamster wheeling is NOT fun. It just seems like it is because theres literally no new content and sometimes RL is so boring even cleaning a catbox would be fun...but theres no catbox..there is the sylestia hamster wheel though! look we can do the same thing we were doing last month..theres just shiny new art attached!

It feels like recently every time you touch something you break it instead and create some shiny new little thing as a distraction. I'll quote my own self here. will you please stop punching holes in the walls and covering them up with paintings then presenting us flowers in the hopes we'll forget you broke something?

I'm so bored and tired of being told something is going to be amazing only to be given the sylestia equivalent of a coat hanger for christmas. Not even socks. just a 1$ store plastic hanger thats too small for your shirts, breaks after 1 use and you can't even use it to unclog a drain.

Also if you want this more like an MMO...why are you picking all the boring, uninspired and frankly downright insulting parts of MMOs? seeing your character and fave pet GOOD. moving character instead of pressing "search area" 3million times VERY good. seeing who your enemy is before battle ALSO VERY GOOD. making interactable events. WHEE now we're getting somewhere....annnnd...then. lost grove came along and it was "ooh cool flowers." " oh look!" "wait...this feels exactly like astral's vale did..." "wait no. why is everything hundreds of thousands of gold and hundreds upon hundreds of items?" annnd it went downhill from there.

and on top of that now you're fixing all these broken things instead of that promised site revamp 3 years ago. Instead of trying desperately to stretch things out how about making them fun in the first place? That hasn't happened since fall fest now.

At this point only new people are enjoying things and by the time they realize us disgruntled veterans had a point THEY are the ignored veterans watching shiny newbies stroll in all baby faced and cheering . Whats the point in doing anything anymore when the reward is getting beaten with sticks?

It really really really sucks that you're babying the lost grove so hardcore that you're essentially lighting the rest of the site(and the people who have supported you for years) on fire :/ Why am i being punished for leveling my pets beyond 60? for being loyal and supportive? why am i being punished for wanting to play the game?

Now all my fave pets are almost literally trash. Theres no incentive beyond grinding towards your impending insanity to do the grove, they're essentially training dummies for festival enemies and they're infertile(because smart people sterilize their max stats before selling them. of course of course) and i can't even breed a new lvl60only version of them!! all 3 parts of the site, grove, festival and breeding are essentially nonexistent now.

I'm rather confused why people are posting long angry rants, when Krinadon answered the question, along with saying that we were going to adjust the top levels so that it was more balanced and easier? Isn't that what you wanted? Yet, somehow something he said, was cherry picked and attacked on. He said the word 'twink pets'...and that equates him clearly being the devil and trying to "punish" the userbase while he cackles gleefully over....?

Sometimes, at this point, I feel like we could literally change and do Every. Single. Feedback. given, and it still wouldn't be good enough or make people happy. He would do something like make his post in the color purple and someone would make a 10 paragraph rant about how purple is offensive to them and how dare he post in the color purple.

All of these rants are completely off base currently with the discussion of the 'Spring Festival Overview'. Additionally, some of you, who are making angry rants, haven't even played in the Spring Festival zone. You're raging about something that according to you sucks, when you haven't even played it! I mean that is just ridiculous. How can someone take someone's feedback on something seriously when they haven't even played it?

Additionally, I personally find it insulting, to say that certain things in a genre of games like MMOs are just bad. Have you ever considered that people have different likes and dislikes in a game? Or does your opinion on what is good in a game the only thing that counts? Because you don't like twink characters in MMOs means that they are 100% bad, and that no one else likes these things? All of these blanket statements are ridiculous and it makes taking feedback like that seriously extremely hard...plus the fact that it literally has nothing to do with the Spring Festival lol.

I'm not telling you what you can and can not like in a game, I think that everyone has personal preferences and there is no right opinion. Not every single thing is black and white. Good and bad.

I'm sorry for my 'long, angry rant'...but some things are too ridiculous not to reply to. Especially the MMO part. I've been playing MMO's since 1999...and I have played all types of MMOs. What makes me happy and keeps me playing a game, can make someone else unhappy and quit the game...vice versa. To say that just because you think it is bad in a game and that 100% makes it bad, is absolutely ridiculous.
