Update on Winter, 16Aug24 ***Warning: Mention of euthanasia.***
The cancer is not gone, after all. It's in his bones and possibly nervous system. Due to the fragile bones, a bump that should've just caused a bruise has fractured his left femur. This is how the veterinarians discovered the cancer's location. (It's unusual for soft-tissue sarcoma to metastasize and go into bone, so no fault to the veterinarians that they didn't notice it sooner.)
Due to the progression of the cancer and the fact that the fractured bone will never heal, my family has decided to euthanize Winter. This will happen here at our home, late morning on 16Aug.
Thought my peeps would want to know.
Further update: Winter got his wings at 1100 Pacific Time today. He was a very good boy.
Edit: OK, in this photo he doesn't look like a very good boy. He looks like he's plotting some mischief.
But he was a good boy, even though he could also be a brat.

The creator of the reference image used a philter that saturated the colors. I'm just using it to show the pumpkin varieties in one place. To research the colors I looked at natural images of the individual varieties. Those colors are softer, as shown in my Theme design.
(Note to self: adjust the yellow on the wings; it looks muddy. if you grab the eye color EC an swap it into g2 it might look better)
