Numbat spreads out his arms to the camp around you. "We're camped out in the middle of chillsky, the best season for storytelling out of the lot of them. Please, go ahead." His eyes look eager and curious as to your tale. Even the creatures around you gather in, ears perked up for a story.

You gently place the mushroom on top of everything else, in the gap between two of the packs of griffin feed.

You look around the dark area and find two more of the mushrooms. You pick them and they act in exactly the same way as the first - dulling ever so slightly.

Carrying on through the forest, disturbing leaves as you go, you find two more dark pockets with mushrooms in. You collect them in the same way until you have a total of 10 mushrooms in your pack.

10 Borealis Mushrooms added to inventory

"Was that the amount he asked for?" Brazentalon squints. "Surely ten is enough."

You push aside the long grass and let the pale yellow afternoon sunlight stream in.

A hollow that is just big enough for you to fit inside is carver into the hill. Roots emerge from the ceiling, hanging down a little ways. A few plants grow from the walls here or there, and old cobwebs glint.

It would do nicely. It doesn't look that comfortable though, and if you choose to go and sleep right away then you can only hope it's enough to keep the chillsky cold away.

Asteria looks at Numbat, "Arlight then I was with my friends on scouting mission for the elves mainly the elvian council when we ran into a clan of bandits that had raided a Centaur settlement and taken some of the them hostiage. One of the hostiages was just a child that had gotten injured in the raid. She was slowing them down and the bandits were worried about being captured so one of them was going to slay her. My friends and I had tracked them but we were too far away to rush them and I saw what they were about to do. Grabbing my bow from my bag and quickly stringing it I aimed at the person who was going to harm the child and fired. My arrow struck home. The bandits were suprised that one arrow could pirce the armor they wore. I loaded my bow and step out of the brush just as my friends were stringing their bows. "Let the hostiages go!" I yelled to them and aimed my bow at the leader. Keep in mind I was about a hundred yards away at the time. The leader scoffed thinking someone closer had made the shot. He and his band tried to surrond me not knowing that I had other farther behind me. My friends drew their bows and pinned one of the bandits to a tree." Asteria takes a breath, "to end a very long story we won with a heavy cost. Until I met Crimson I traveled alone for that reason."

(If I may have some leadroom on Asteria's backstory if not tell me)

Delirious squints her eyes and turns around to scour the area, it would be nice to block up the entry a bit to avoid a lot of the chillsky cold and maybe gather some materials to attempt to build a fire.

(You're backstory sounds completely fine. It's actually good, I like it. Though sad)

Crimson nuzzles into you, eyes wide.

"I... hadn't expected that," Numbat said, eyes sorrow. He pats your shoulder and hands you a slightly burnt critter kebab. "Eat. We need to keep our energy up."

He hesitates before carrying on. "I have travelled alone for a long time, too. I have a past that I'd rather forget. To be honest, I've been too preoccupied with hardly ever stopping moving that I've not had time to make any friends or even acquaintances in this lonely world." He chuckles awkwardly, scratching his head. "So I'll have to apologise to you for pushing all of you so hard - it's just a habit I've gotten used to."

Shootingstar slowly trots over and butts his leg reassuringly. Surprised, he smiles at the foal.

There's plenty of dried grass and shrubbery around to block up the entrance. At a push, with enough of the small bushes and shrubs you could make a fire to last long enough. You could also start the fire with various shards of rock that have fallen from the larger shards that emerge from the grass.

There are also various flowers and other plants you don't recognise. Maybe at some point gaining some herbal knowledge would be beneficial.

"Thank you. We forgive you," Asteria smiles as she pets Crimson.

Delirious darts around gathering different items for the fire along with some larger materials to block up the entrance with later on. After such materials are gathered she picks a few of the strange plants and stores them away for examination later.

Delirious then continues on to attempt to light a fire with the limited survival knowledge that she has.
