(Perfectly okay - real life is more important. Hope things are going fine now ^.^)

You point to one with swirling patterns with a clawed footprint in the centre. Various blue and green dyes have been painted through the carvings.

"Ah, that old thing," he chuckles. "Picked that up from a wise man in the mountains. He lived in a rickety old shack on one of the highest peaks, and I had been advised to pass by his home at some point in my life. I was a lot younger then of course - nowadays I couldn't even hope to get up that mountain."

His smile lessens a bit as he picks it up and turns it in his hands. "I learned a good deal of wisdom from that crazy old dwarf. And for my troubles, he gifted unto me this runestone. He told me what it meant one time but, well, that was part of my path that is too far a ways back to remember."

He looks back at you and places the runestone back where it came from. "I used to keep it to myself but now I figured I should let others have a chance to decipher it."

I trace the swirled carvings reverently before shaking my head. "I don't know enough enough of runes to take that on Grandfather, and I have my own quest besides. Have you happened to hear of a silver-green pelted stallion on your travels? His coat is tipped in purple and he would have gone by Theillar of the Silvermane Herd."

(by grandfather I don't mean to imply they're actually related, I was just looking for a respectful but friendly term)

"Sneak. Sneak sounds good - then I can make sure we don't get hurt," he breathes.

He begins making an arc around the bear, his steps slow and steady and disturbing the leaves as little as possible. All the while the bear gets as much nourishment from the berry branch as possible, oblivious to you for now.

Brazentalon keeps the golden scores on the trees in sight all the while. You're just about to lose the bear from sight when a hidden branch snaps under your familiar's feet and leaves rustle loudly.

The bear's head snaps round and it stares, rolling onto its feet. It stands on its hind legs, its large claws very much apparent and its teeth glinting with the red berry juice. Brazentalon freezes, holding his breath.

(Does the bear see us? Sorry, I'm kind of confused
My IQ is in the negatives.)

I try to be calm and say, "Hey there...we're just passing by...Brazontalon, back away slowly..." I keep looking at the bear.
--------------------------
(If the bear doesn't see us)

I freeze and try to stay as silent and still as possible. I keep my eye on the bear.

When the bowl is empty and there are no adverse side affects beside a horrendous aftertaste and bits of whatever it was stuck in your teeth, it seems that it did not include pineapples or griffin feathers.

Your stomach, at least, is full. You still feel weak but hopefully in time and with the 'food' you will regain most of your strength.

The goblin spits on the ground by your feet before tying you up again. The armed goblin by the door watches on with sharp eyes as the first one does so.

(Sounds good to me ^.^)

He strokes his braided beard thoughtfully, a frown on his face. "I can't claim to have seen such a centaur. Is he kin of yours?"

You note movement to your right. The trader from the western territories is packing up his stall, putting his goods into a small cart. He's got a decent bit to go.

He wonders if the one tying him has to be watched because the one tyin him up might not be totally loyal or good at his :"job"

(No worries with the double posting.
And woops, sorry, I realise I wasn't very specific - my fault. The bear does see you but isn't yet acting)

Brazentalons walks back as if in slow motion, each step deliberate as he puts more and more space between the two of you and the bear.

It huffs, its breath condensing in the air. It lands back on four feet, dropping its empty branch and continuing to watch the two of you as you slowly disappear from sight.

"That was close. We're lucky its the hibernating season," Brazentalons sighs. "Otherwise it might have had enough energy to pick a fight with us."

Though you were spotted at the end, you have a better idea of what to do in that sort of situation in future.

+1 stealth

"Yeah," I say and get off Brazentalons."Let's keep going, I don't want to add wyvern on the list of 'Unfortunate encounters of today'." I keep going through the forest and follow those marks if he does too.

(I noticed that you didn't add in the stealth or the onyx ring.)

(Alrighty ^.^)

Shootingstar huffs, poking his nose into the snow.

"He says there's little enough that it should melt soon," Crimson sniffs. "I vote for being carried in the morning." Emberpaw nods along. She then mutters: "Can't wait 'til I grow up. Then my fire wont go out so easily."

Numbat, hearing voices, emerges from his tent and squeaks. "Oh no!" he cries, jumping out and immediately packing up his stuff. "This is bad. We must get to the town as soon as possible!"

The two phoenix look on, squawking a bit at they examine the snow with disgruntled expressions.

Asteria nods once, "Alright help me pack up then you two can get a ride. Numbat I agree let's get moving as soon as possible."
