I like this version over the one with the huge wing blocking the body,
but now the belly seems way too slim, it looks weird and needs to be thicker.

So i saw this, and i totally agree, the kelps look better with out the wings, but the belly also seems really slim and it looks kind of awkward, but anyway they still look good. Keep it up!

I like Scath's idea, but as a mutation for the wings. I can't count the number of times I've wanted to do a 6vis nixi design, but the wing-slot has no wings small enough to use and not take over elements of the rest of the design, and so I end up with a 5 vis instead. If the large dorsal fins were a mutation possibility in the wing slot, there would be a chance for a 6 vis with or without wings. (Personally, I'm loving the transparent wings over the body lol! And I know Fai has said the reason the wings aren't situated up was an aesthetics issue, so I'm not sure whether the large fins would also cause the same issue. They do get a little in the way of the water mane.) Anyway, my thoughts on it XP

*o* Gorgeous!!! I'm so excited! They look so sleek and majestic :3 I think losing the back legs was a good choice. I don't mind suspending my disbelief for the sake of aesthetics lol

The only critique I would like to make is the female's neck/chest area. It looks like it could stand to be a bit bigger. Horses have very large muscles in that area.

I also agree with the point others have made about the babies' face shape. As adorable as they are (and they are EXTREMELY adorable), their skulls look very human shaped. The style doesn't seem consistent between the adults and the babies.

I LOVE the edits Katasaur made! It makes the female look strong and athletic, while still keeping her grace :D

Edit: I just saw fai's post about no bulking up :( I get that, but I still think this edit looks more "proportional." Although, I absolutely adore the new kelps! I am *super* excited for transparent wings, and I love the uniqueness in the male's hooves. I hope the babies snouts' will be lengthened, though.. Other than that, they are perfect <3 Although water creatures are not my typical style, I probably will be coming up with a kelp project with that fantastic art!

I definitely would love to see the wings as a mutation as well! even if they were to have those wings, I was thinking more of fins..so smaller of course.
And if the webbed feet have to go, seeing them as a mutation would just warm my heart ;w;

I think it's really cool that so many people are so engaged with this.

I'm not sure where I stand in the wings/no wings/wings-are-a-mutation camps. I think translucent wings will probably work out just fine as "standard" on the Kelpari. Also, I wonder if making these new version wings into a Mutation would cause all Kelparies without that particular Mutation to look a bit...naked.

Don't think I can agree with those who see the new adults as too cute. They still seem impressive and majestic to me, plus the female looks like a total troublemaker! (That's a complement.)

Wonder how Splash Wings will look with the new design?

Re various comments about the adult female's proportions, particularly the head, and whether or not she needs a bit more muscle: Perhaps if her head were just a tad smaller? Just a bit, giving her somewhat of an Arabian horse appearance. What do folks think of that possibility?

(Now that I look more closely at the male and female together, she looks like she's planning some kind of prank to play on him.)

woaaaah they look so much better like this :D I can't wait!

But I feel like the babies look slightly too human if that even makes sense lmao. It's probably just me :3

I definitely agree with that. Something about the nose... Maybe it isn't long enough? Or the nostrils aren't horsey enough? You can see it on the face of the male, and the female chin is a bit funny.
Adults are amazing! Can't wait for the new ones! Good job on these!
