Sandslash smirked a lopsided grin and immidiately dodged using Dig. "You'll have to be quicker then that, mate!"

Having watched a lot of fights, Pyro knew what Dig did. And it was strong. After landing, he used the power of the Detect Band to find where Sandslash was. When he was close, Pyro immediately jumped high and angled away, firing a Dragon Pluse where Sandslash was in the ground and prepping a Dragon Claw in case Sandslash dodged and came after him.

Sandslash broke the surface of the ground, having realized he wasn't hitting Pyro with it for the time being. Instead, he extended an arm to the side, preparing to use Crush Claw.

Crush Claw is a strong move. Best keep ur distance. Pyro fired off Hyper Beams, Dragon Pulses, and Flamthrowers at Sandslash to keep him away while powering up Dragon Claw in case he tanked some hits.

Sandslash dodged the Dragon Pulse and Hyper Beam, but charged right through Flamethrower. "Thanks mate. Been meanin' to work on me tan," With that, he landed Crush Claw in a swift and powerful downstroke.

(Something else I should mention: Normal Evolution works a little differently in the PMD universe. Once the pokemon reaches the appropriate level, there's a special location where one must go to evolve.)

Pyro felt the hit. Hard. And all he could think was, DANGNABBIT I FORGOT SANDSLASH CAN TANK FIRE MOVES!!!!! before flying a couple feet away and landing hard. He had a disadvantage before, with Sandslash as a ground type and Pyro a fire type, plus his only melee moves is Dragon Claw and Thunder Punch. And the second he cant use. And now hes lost energy and health. This aint good. But a plan has been made. Time to execute it.

Pyro hobbled up, saying, Holy Arceus, bro, did u have to hit me that hard?? Before firing a a larger and more powerful Hyper Beam, causing Pyro to fly backwards into a tree by the sheer force of it.

(There's a location on the map called "Evolution Spring". It's not easy to get to, though.)

"Yes. Diddya really think I'd be a pushova?" He called back. He quickly decided to tank the Hyper Beam, knowing that Pyro would be left prone to attack afterward. However, the decision took quite a bit from Sandslash and sent him hurtling into a tree. "....Ow." He complained.

Pyro saw Sandslash fly away into a tree and said, smiling, Hey, ur not the only one thrown into a tree, u know. Stop shoving up to me, before firing off a Dragon Pulse and charging with Dragon Claw activated.

Sandslash recovered from the shock, pulled himself together, curled up in a tight ball, and used Rollout. "Let's see ya tank this, mate!"
