"Alrighty." Nikkie says, trotting to the left. The noise increases with each step, and eventually, Nikkie puts his hands over his ears. "Are we still continuing on this path?" He yells, obviously not pleased with the noise. The light pulsed as if it was a living thing, growing steadily brighter the closer they got to the source.

Her face was a little strained. She was holding her hand over her ears. "We should at least see why it's so bright and noisy. But I'm all for it if you want to go back."

"OK." Nikkie says, plodding forward since you wanted to see why it was bright and noisy. The green light pulses, and a small glowing orb whizzed next to your head.

'Ah, more travellers. Come! Enjoy the party. Loose yourself in the fun!' The light hummed, urging the two forward.

"Party?" Nikkie asks nervously. "I don't like parties. They make me feel claustrophobic." The light laughs, bobbing in the air.

'Don't worry. There is only fun. Fun! Let go of your worries, enter the party!' The light says. Hmm. It seems pretty convincing. Fun, no worries, no monsters. Something that didn't seem distinctly you was in your conscience, telling you to go forward, enjoy the party, have fun, forget about the bad things in life.

"I... I don't want to go forward... but something is telling me too. Maybe it won't be so bad..."

"Parties are terrible! Trust me, I always end up being the odd one out. And the noise and the close proximity of everyone... I can't handle it. And I'm not leaving you. I don't trust this green thing. Let's go." Nikkie says, taking your arm and fairly dragging you away from the green light and fun party noises.

'No! Come back! WE WILL DESTROY YOU IF YOU RUN AWAY!' The light yells, whizzing in front of Nikkie's face.

"Which is why we are calmly walking away, not running. Now get out of our way you creepy monster." Nikkie growls, unsheathing one of his daggers and holding it threateningly.

'Can't hurt me with that, you can't. I'm a light ball of gas. I am a star. And now you shall die.' The green light says, flickering.

"We need to get out of here. Now." Nikkie says. Suddenly, there was darkness. Just darkness. "Don't panic, I'm trying something."

A moment later, you were on a path. No green light. No party. No noise.
It was calm.

You can stop and rest up for a little bit or you can continue on.

"I.. I'm so sorry, Nikkie. I don't know what I was thinking." She held her hand on her head. "That gave me such a headache. Let's rest for a bit."

"It's a'ight. Sounds like a great plan." Nikkie slurrs, swaying on his feet. A second later, he crumpled like a tin can.

"Nikkie!" She was a little worried, as he hadn't been that tired a minute before. "It's like you've drunken too much," she mumbled trying to shake him awake.

Nikkie growls slightly in a rather weak way, but, otherwise, he doesn't make a move. Well, he wasn't dead, that was for sure.
It could be one of two things - the green light was killing him somehow or whatever Nikkie had done to get them here had been rather taxing.

I fight the urge best I can and take a few steps away from the figure. The urge is stronger the farther away I am, forcing me down on my knee.
