Quick update on the Nytekrie Revamp stuff.
I have finished my first pass of the updated Re-Generator. This was necessary because I have opted to allow players to re-select Hidden Carried Traits for this Revamp and for future Revamps. Please note, this has never been something players could do in the past. There was zero framework anywhere in the game to allow such a process. On top of that, I had to inject this framework into an already existing framework that was not remotely built for such a thing. This is why this process has taken so long... it has been extremely complicated on the backend to sort out all the logic.
After completing my first pass of the new Re-Generator, I then went back and revisited the logic for determining what each Nytekrie will be allowed to select during its Re-Gen process. There were quite a few concerns from the original logic that I tried taking into consideration. Thus, I expanded the available options to players that I think should be much more accommodating but still within the restrictions that I am aiming for. A few highlights of the changes:
1. I created a hybrid system for what each pet can have. It takes into consideration both the total Trait Point values as well as a max amount of specific Visible, Carried, and Hidden Carried Traits.
2. All Visible and Hidden Carried Traits will be eligible to be selected as Carried Traits.
3. All Carried Traits will be eligible to be selected as Hidden Carried Traits.
4. Hidden Carried Traits that end up not having a valid Visible option anymore in their Slots are now upgraded to allocable Carried Traits. A big beneficiary of this was the Fairy Enchantment gene.
All of these changes should give the player much more flexibility for keeping the specific Traits that they want. The Regen Preview page has been updated with these changes so you can check your Nytekrie now to see what the results are.
Now that I have made these changes, I will have to go back to my new Re-Generator and update it for these changes. This shouldn't be a huge task, as it's still utilizing the exact same framework... I just need to update the limits since it's now checking against both total Trait Points spent as well as a max for Visible, Carried, and Hidden Trait allocations.
I still am not going to set a final date, but we are moving closer and closer. I will keep working at this until everything is finished.
