While thinking about this Ryori I was inspired a lot by the idea of how Autumn is the season where everything starts "dying" - and how Melbourne Autumns everything starts to get dreary, cold, overcast and grey. I gave her the "overcast cloud" grey on her wispy smog that stifles the Star Runes on G3 because the grey clouds will hide the stars through much of the coming season - but some nights are still lovely in Autumn so you can still see some. I felt like the pale blue Galaxy on M2 hinted at the Winter chill to come, just sparkling through the winds - and of course, her Crown of Leaves looks like the crunchy Autumn leaves on the ground. ^^ the red claws I gave her as a more 'literal' death signifier, kind of going for the idea that the claws have been covered in blood. ^^

I was reminded of this because of how quickly fall fades, and the wind and the leaves it carries, and the thick wind that blows in your face.

Autumn Carving

This Ryori is an Autumn carving, infused with live shadows. ;) Just like a real Autumn carving, she has been lovingly carved out of wood from the plentiful Winter firewood stockpile and hand painted with beautiful Autumnal colours to give her a charming design without distracting from the natural beauty of the wood. This carving, however, was completed during the Fall Festival, which allowed the actual essence of a Ryori to be born within its wooden frame, breathing life into it's previously still form. As if as proof of this, the infusion of the Ryori's shadow essence has allowed the shadows to seep through the wood and trail effortlessly in the air about her.

Halloween is always my favorite part of the fall. This little one was inspired by vengeful Japanese spirits known as the ju-on.

Just chuck my favourite traits on a ghostly colouring scheme. I think it would be suited to be a ghost of a noble lady.

most years in colorado, not long after the leaves fall, we get snow, i tried my best to show that in this ryori, i used autumn leaf colors and white stripes along with lucky dust that looks fairly like snow

Jack Skellington

---

"My dearest friend, if you don't mind...
I'd like to join you by your side...
Where we can gaze into the stars...
And sit together...
Now & forever...
For it is plain as anyone can see...
We're simply meant to be..."

The Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite movie of all time. I can watch it hundreds of thousands of times & I'll never bore of it. This movie is a tradition in my house & we watch it every Halloween & Christmas Eve to celebrate both holidays that the movie covers. My favorite character (in terms of design) is Zero, but I saw there was already a Zero-themed Ryori, so I went with my favorite all time character, the terrifying, lovable Pumpkin King! Mr. Skellington & his love for Sally inspired this Skele-rose themed Ryori! <3

Folio Cadunt.........The Leaves Fall

When I think of fall I think of the strong winds and the leaves being tossed through the air.In the beginning the leaves look beautiful but then as the days go one and the rain comes. The days get chillier and the leaves start to loose there colors turning into more of ugly crinkly brown. Then i also think of the days getting shorter,as winter grows nearer. My ryori is based off of both of these things.
