It's quite interesting, not the usual type of book or story I'd read but if I was at a bookstore and I saw it I'd probably pick it up and buy it ^-^

My grammar, punctuation, and anything having to do with English is awful despite the fact that I pride myself in my good English grades, so I am no use in offering help in suggestions or corrections.

I--
I have a problem.

My bird son, Solo, needs to get a pet-icure. And by that, i mean his talons are like needles digging into my shoulder and they need to be trimmed. Usually, I can take him to the place I adopted him and the folks there will take care of him.

This time, however, the virus-who's-name-will-not-be-mentioned decided to roll in the week he needed to get them done and the place is now closed. My bird's way overdue for a trim, so... does anybody know of any pet places that still have their grooming services open? I already called Pet Smart, Family Pet Center, and Pet Supplies Plus.

All shall curse the Voldemort virus.
I mean, if all else fails, I'm sure you could try doing it yourself.
Then again, parakeets might be different.

Pet Smart's open, but they aren't doing any grooming stuff, at least the one by me.

I've... considered buying clippers and doing it myself, but I'm a bit nervous about that; I don't want to risk hurting him by accident. I'll revisit that option as a last resort.

Oh god no never trim your birds nails by yourself. We tried with Smoky and she was squirming so much we cut a bit too much off, and it started bleeding a bit. Which is obviously what's not supposed to happen. The best thing to do is use sandpaper to wear down the nails if all else fails.

I mean... does he trust you enough? We did it with our parakeet once and I've been told it's best not to if they don't trust you, I don't think she liked it very much and kind of wiggled around but it worked. Obviously don't do it if they hate you lol.

I'd say trim them yourself, we do that with our birds if they ever get too bad. Some birds don't tolerate being held so if you wrap them in a small washcloth or towel and put something over their eyes they should be fine.
I'm sure there is a tutorial on YouTube if you want to know how to do it ^-^

If you're really against trimming them yourself I'd say try to find a vet that specializes in birds that's in your area and see if they'll do it.
