It looks up sharply, watching you for a second before recognition shines in its eyes. It seems to have been digging at the river cliff to expose roots, and it munches on one just now.
Its shoulders bob almost in a shrug. Pulling itself out of the river bed it points in different directions and 'shrugs' again, an inquisitive look in its eyes.

She looks optimistic. "I want to try. Even if I get tired out all it means is we have to rest before flying back to Elvenor and we don't get 5G, right? It's just like our normal flights together. We might even find something in the forest to bring back!"
You try to creep away but the snow crackles and crunches with every step you make. The guard twitches, but doesn't turn. You'll have to go past tents to escape, and if anything hears you it won't be hard to pick you out from the snowy grasslands. Even if they realise you're gone they can just follow your footprints.
As an elf, you know you would be faster on foot than goblins. Even if they mounted up on their cart horse it isn't bred for speedy pursuits. But being out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by snow is another concern.
Do you still want to take the stealthy option?

He runs for it. Using long strides for less noise and trying to be as light as possible.
He chirrups, looking at you sheepishly. "Well, I suppose I should have come down in the first place rather than dithering up here. I'll make sure to be there the whole time at the next heroic act we do."
He jumps up, rising into the sky and leaving the caravan of great big trundling carts behind. He orientates himself with the sun and hovers for a second.
"I don't know my geography all that well," he admits. "I need the direction of this city, then I can fly there."
I scratch my head awkwardly. "You know I'm not the best at geography either, all I know is that they're somewhere in the grasslands? Not very helpful, I know," I say, sighing.

Delirious points in the same direction and gives the creature a questioning glance.
"Do you want to go that way bud?"

Seeing that the rest of you are staying, the officer grunts and marches off, saying over his shoulder: "Come on. You all need a few things. Oh, and if you don't keep up, you need to hand them back. If you don't," he chuckles. "You'll have a bit of trouble on your hands, let me tell you."
Your group glances among one another before the others trail after him.

You hear a yelp and the crunch of snow. You can only presume that the guard has noticed and tripped over while trying to get after you. There's a ruckus as the goblins begin to loudly argue among each other, but it gets quieter as you get further and further away.
The snow flicks up behind you as your feet hit the ground with every step. The cold air is harsh in your throat and your chest and eventually you have to slow to a jog, feeling raw inside. The passive fire in your blood will hopefully sort that out.
But again, it still is cold. You haven't seen any distinguishable land marks that could help you find civilisation, and eventually you will need to stop and unless it snows again the goblins can follow your tracks. And if it snows... a shelter would be the best idea, even for someone with fire magic.

"Well, I know that it's called the Adventurer's Crossroads, and the Adventurer's road goes to all four corners of Anaia, so maybe it's in the centre of the grasslands? I remember how to get back to the road, so we can go from there, right?"

It shrugs again. Then it points back to where you vaguely remember Thatchburg being, and shakes its head and growls. Anywhere but there, then.

Then time to fin shelter.
Or something.
Hopefully nearer to civilization if possible.
